That would have been a good day to "FIND" Adam lol......haven't seen that in ages. Makes Melvin look pretty good!! haha What always interested me about this pic is that with just a curl under of his lips to thin them and a slump to his shoulders he became someone else. not that a fan would not have recognized him, but with a tiny tiny little bit more effort he could have passed right by fans incognito! |

A single before Queen would be a very smart strategy, IMO. Plus Adam said an album this year and I am thinking Fall. I don't understand your reasoning, Kamar. I don't understand you guys either . Queenbert clearly didn't do anything to help TRSP (it screwed it up , IMO) , so I can't see why it could possibly help era 3 . Maybe with the money , I guess ? Not getting me excited at all . I really couldn't care less . It's getting old . There's no way on earth there'll be an album out in spring . You guys know that Adam is a snail when it comes to working on albums and getting them perfect (they do come out perfect in the end , tho) So him having to work with Queen in the summer will only make the process even slower . Maybe working on Glee will make the process slower too , but it will make him win a younger fanbase . He needs a younger fanbase , those are the fans that'll make him "popular" . No offense to the older fanbase , of course . And "Lay Me Down" is never going to be a single . Avicii is working on a new one already . Guess Adam ain't "popular" enough for Avicii to even consider putting out "Lay Me Down" as a single . So no excitement there . Ivy who ? Melissa what ? Puh-leeze . . . I mean , is that "intense" ? cuz I'm not feeling it *shrug* Most of the world have no clue who Ivy is (I only know about her because Adam pimps her) , and for Melissa , I have never EVER heard of her . Will those duets help Adam in any way ? Get him some mainstream success ? A song on the radio ? simply NO . Sorry , not interested . I know most of you guys will hate me for this post , but I just had to post this . And don't worry , I'm out . Will probably never come back , I don't feel good in this place anymore . I disagree that the shows with Queen hurt Trespassing. Trespassing was released May 15, 2012 and the first Queen show wasn't until June. The Trespassing era was killed by lack of radio play and nothing else. It wasn't even really because the singles were bad per se, neither was worse than anything on radio at that time, yet they still didn't get play. Why? Because the people at RCA who has so amazingly supported Adam during era 1, Barry Weiss, etc., were gone. I do agree that there will not be an album out by Spring. I think the earliest we will get an album from Adam is October/November 2014 with a single released late summer/early Fall. In the meantime Adam tours with Queen in the U.S. and gets amazing press and media coverage which raises his profile leading up to the release of the single. You're right, Lay Me Down is never going to be a single. No one ever said or even hinted that it might be so any disappointment people feel is all self-inflicted IMO. I had never heard of Ivy either but I had also never heard of Bonnie McKee, Nikki Acosta, Avicci, Greg Wells, and countless other people Adam has successful worked with. Just because someone is unknown doesn't mean they aren't worth working with. As for Melissa Etheridge, she's a highly successful artist whose career spans decades and generations/genres. A duet with her would be fantastic if for no other reason than she's an incredible artist. IMO a true artist is always looking to create and expand on their creativity. They do not look at potential projects and think "is this going to "help" me" but rather they look at them and think "is this going to feed my need to create and grow?" If Adam only did projects that helped him he wouldn't be doing much because the truth is there is no one thing that will help him other than hitting that special, unknown factor, that will make him take off. And that might NEVER happen on a grand scale. He's still fantastically successful and still does enough to keep his legions of fans entertained and interested and that's a lot more than most artists fans can say about their favorite. |

The reason the QAL tour will be good for Adam this year is that the shows will be in the US and all the radio guys who were at iHeart will be aware of it. That fact will help when his new music is released. When they did the tour in Europe hardly a word about it was mentioned here.
Also, I think Adam really likes performing with Brian and Roger (and vice versa). It's a tough business, but the chance for them to make great music together is something that may not come again, and they may not want to pass that by. One (of many) things that I admire about Adam is that he does take the opportunity to do things he wants to do. He's also learning a ton of stuff from them about the business, as he is from Nile (I feel like know these guys on a first name basis..  ). Adam is wise to take advantage of these opportunities. And he's having fun, too!
And... I think Q3's proposed schedule makes sense. He may very well have a single ready to go. There have been lots of days like today where there is no sign of him. Lots of work getting done. We just are not able to see it going on.
AND.... this is no worse than when we were waiting for Trespassing to be released.... we just have to do something in our lives that gets us excited! (If you saw my pile of work you would laugh at me!)
So.... Kamar.... hang in - it will be better soon - and please keep drawing/painting - your work has a certain edgy look to it. I think I could pick in out from a big group of other art. You have lots of fans here yourself. |

Its not so easy to "recognize" a stranger you only know from vids ... The one time I saw Adam I had just seen him on stage in Helsinki and still ran down a whole check list in my mind (saw him from behind at the Airport after the concert): cap, hairline, jacket, pants, posture .... what sold me was the shoes, what threw me was that everyone says he is "so tall" - to me his is average male. But the boots sold the deal and then I saw him on the plane and yadda yadda yadda ....  |

I don't feel good in this place anymore. Awww sweetheart.  Yep, it can get frustrating waiting and waiting for things to happen, while hoping for ALBUM! But we are truly getting lots of other things in the meantime. But, yeah, its hard. [smiles] Your rollercoaster is acting aggravatingly. We keep hearing the <click> <click> <click> as we go up....and then we hit another plateau. Or, we a little dip and air flow, get excited, and then hit the damnable <click> <click> <click> again. Its easy to think: "Dammit, where's the f'in loop-de-loop at this point??!!"   Have faith, bb. Take a break if you think you really need to. But we'll be here to give you hugs when you get back.  |

People are going to have different feelings about Adam's path and choices. Feelings are not wrong. There are some people here who make other people out to be wrong for expressing their feelings that are in the angst/frustration/disappointment/sadness realm. Some react as though, in expressing these feelings, a person is actually attacking Adam and they react in an extremely defensive and hyper protective manner. I think it is really important not to make people wrong and not to attack people for their feelings because this can create a extremely oppressive environment. The feeling gestapo has pushed me over the edge on one particular occasion for which I am not proud. But this "wronging" and reactivity can, in itself, be a form of bullying. The message is, "Don't share negative feelings on this thread. You are not wanted here if you feel that way. How could you feel that and say such a thing about Adam."
If you do feel differently, and far more positively than someone and you want to respond, try being understanding first rather than going into a defense or attack mode. Try saying something a little kind, like that you've had days where you felt down/frustrated/ whatever that feeling is too, first, and then after a kind word offer your perspective. Or just scroll past.
If someone is disappointed or frustrated and are venting and SHARING here they do not need to be made out to be wrong for the way they feel or be made out to be a traitor to Adam or the forum. What they likely need most is a kind word of understanding. It is OK to feel disappointment and frustration, sadness and angst in addition to all the amazing positive emotions. It is not wrong. It is human, very human! People need to be able to share the full rainbow of emotions and not be forced to sit within perfectly happy, worshipful, and lustful, the three emotions most welcome here, all the time. People need to learn how to deal and scroll if they are overly effected by someone elses angst or frustration, rather than becoming the feeling gestapo.
Often people are expressing that negative feeling, that frustration, or sadness BECAUSE they love Adam so much and they want everything to be perfect FOR him. They want the best path, the best of everything. NOT because they are disappointed IN Adam. Adam is Amazing, an absolutely amazing talented fighter, upriser. We live in an imperfect world. It is this imperfect world that can get one down. We do not and will not always get what we want for him. Most of the time we focus on the positive. But every once in a while we will have a day where we feel frustrated and we want to be able to share that feeling that stems from LOVE with others, you, this group, who also love him. That is why people post their feelings here! So, please let's handle the negative emotions because they too come from that place of big love for Adam.
