. Here is a warm-up exercise video that you can also use to figure out your range. I haven't done those warmups in YEARS and I more than suck at it now

Thanks Cassie and CraazyforAdam. I really appreciate your taking to the time to educate us! The only tune I can carry is on a portable radio, so this is all fascinating to me.

I also believe that Adam is close to finished with the album, and that he was in Sweden so long, because final recordings and editing needed to happen.
I believe that we might find, that the creative cycle was a bit different this time around, than during the two RCA driven album cycles. Instead of sitting down with some musician and - on command - developing a new song kind-of-a writing process, I think this time, some key players like Nile, were in regular touch with Adam and threw certain ideas back and forth, as they were coming along. I see Adam having grown into a valuable player that has proven himself as trust-worthy and whose opinion and input they now value.
I have always thought of Adam as very much a catalyst in the studio, somebody who throws his energy into the mix and something happens, but not necessarily does Adam come out as the only one or primary one who has something (i.e. a new song) in his hands. I think he is inspiring to others, just like he is to us. He gives them ideas.
And others feed off these ideas, while at the same time creating a song with him/or for him. And while that is not great for the financial success in the immediate, it is great for building a network.
Pharrell in his comments yesterday was kind of confirming that perception for me. Whatever Adam and he were working on, led to other work that Pharrell then expanded upon in the following years.
And while Adam unfortunately did not achieve the break-through that maybe he had deserved, it sure made him a player that others wanted back in the mix, for a next round. And that will pay dividends down the road, and maybe even has already for A3. There is no question that he is 'hanging with the in-crowd' and they are welcoming him in their group. They would not do that, if Adam were not bringing something to the table.
If what I am sensing here, actually is the case, then the whole financial situation is a different one too. Dr Luke was somebody whom the A&R team engaged. Adam was the customer for whom something got written and payment happened according to what was agreed.
If Adam now gets to be an occasional partner on a creative team, things can evolve more organically, songwriting credit is shared between participants for sure, but costs are incurred as needed, for example, when studio time needs to be booked. It becomes more a question of time, to bring the right players together.
I don't know, who Adam is working with, but obviously that Guetta tweet was intriguing. With Avicii and Nile there are two other major players on the world stage right now in the running to potentially have something to do with A3. Add to that, that I have not yet figured out what is happening between SPW and Adam, and you have a lot of first rate possibilities going on. And there may be a lot else in the work that we know nothing about.

The posts on Adam's vocal abilities made me this of one good reason for him to do duets -- it provides a comparison between two vocalist and for me, a non-expert, makes me realize the true unique beauty and clarity of his voice. It is so much more than just hitting the notes.
Thanks for the posts.

I was reading the vocal discussion just as Jimmy Fallon came tv with The Roots in one of their classroom instrument songs. This one is that song from frozen with Idena Menzel singing. (Besides being a Broadway star, she has played Lea Michelle's birth mother on Glee.) I found it interesting that the audience broke into cheers for some of her high notes (as audiences are so prone to doing lately) for notes that aren't even particularly high. Is it the highness they are cheering for or do people really get some emotional rush from the feeling conveyed? The thing is, the high notes are not particularly high--yes, a bit higher than the average pop song. Here is the clip. You can hear the audience more at about 2:40 to the end. Although it's just a D, it is belted and sounds like a stretch even though she hits it fine. So, as Cassie mentioned, are people loving it because it sounds more strained? www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/segments/1996
