haha...I remember this quote 8-) A typical stuck up "true rocker" condescension towards a far superior singer.... he lost my respect right then and there...

I didn't see it as condescension. Paul always seemed in interviews to me to be a straight forward, down to earth guy. I think it was more that Queen tours are usually bigger and more grueling than most tours so it's natural to wonder if someone who hadn't had that kind of experience was ready for it. In more recent interviews he was just glad to see the machine rolling again.
I mean Adam did do a good job at it but it is easy to see why people would question at first.

If you are looking for expensive but great tickets for Chicago. I stumbled on a great set of tickets on Stub Hub Floor 5 (center, back section -- no seats in front of this -- the catwalk is in from of this section. Two listings Row 1| Qty1-9 $399, and Qtyl 1-3 $376. This is a pricing mistake by the ticket owmers IMO. Q3, the StubHub diagram does not show the rest of Floor 2, rows 14-25, which are between the catwalk and Floor 5.

Q3 wrote on the first page today:
The article quote concentrates on recordings but doesn't say much on live events which I believe is the true origin of the tradition. It mentions that the NA was recorded in October, 1974, and a version was released on A Night at the Opera in 1975. And this:
I have always thought that Queen closed their concerts with the NA much earlier, only that it ended up on their record as late as 1975, on A Night at the Opera. Could it be that they didn't use it in the US in 1974 because they were not closing the concert but instead being the opening act? Or maybe it was used in the UK but not abroad?
Did QAL concerts in Europe close with NA? I know in London they did but what was the case with Poland, Moscow, Kiev? Does anyone remember who was present there? The videos we get are mostly Adam singing so IDK.

A Finnish musician, Juice Leskinen, used our NA to close his gigs and I think he got the idea from Queen. His early 70's band played their last gig in July 1975 and I saw them sometime during their last year - and they played the NA. A Night at the Opera was made later than that. Of course, it's possible that the same idea to use NA emerged in different places but in this case I doubt it.
BTW We also had a tradition at the university student club much later to close live music evenings and even disco nights with NA just because Juice had that tradition too - and the story was that it originated from Queen. I have no idea if that was a tradition elsewhere too, in order to enforce the end of the evening and music, like lights full on, to get people out of the establishment.
Another tidbit from the 70's, our state-owned national radio (the only one that existed at that time) closed its programming daily at midnight - with our national anthem. Maybe that was one part of the tradition origins here. But it was not used in movie theaters (that I know of).

I realize how old and inapplicable to the QAL tour this is. But touring with Queen (private jet, top notch security, lodgings, etc.) has to be a damn sight easier than the grueling Glam Nation travel Adam managed to survive. Adam will be fine

They aren't even pretending these presales are secret anymore! There is a special presale for Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia today -- CyberClub presale Use password "EMAIL" to purchase! Presale begins March 13th at 10:00am. Presale ends FRIDAY, March 14th at 10:00pm. ETA: These codes, the Queen Facebook code and the American Express presale result in mediocre tickets. For example, in Chicage, I get section 301 for 2 tickets -- that is upper level 45 degree view of stage. The "access" password seems to work from the same pool - I got the same exact seats using either password. So far, everything I see is worse than the tickets I got from the Fan Club pre-sale.... Basically this has been a pretty honest presale... VIP is best and they have been selling in sequence within the tiers. > Untimate - the first 5 rows center seems to be sold out everywhere. > Some venues have no floor seats on sale and are selling the side plaza level as VIP -- same as you get with the ALF/Queen Fans code. > Some fans are banking on some of the VIP seats not selling and then getting to buy them without the packages. This may work in some venues but I do not think it will work in the big markets. > Fanclub presale is the next best tickets. > AMEX is in blocks but not great seats. > The other presale codes are not pulling good seats for me. They will release more tickets tomorrow. But I do not think they will be great tickets. For example, the back center sections on the floor appear to be in the public sale for all the US arenas. But these are not good seats. So, for example, the LA Forum looks like parts of sections 1 & 3 and all or 2 on the floor will be on sale for the public sale but they are the third section back of the floor. Same in Philadelphia. In Detroit, the only floor section with no sales is 120B --- a tiny little sliver at the back of the floor. I have been looking at the resale sites and the idea that they only released 20% of the tickets in the presale is not possible. There are too many tickets on resale sites with instant download options meaning they are people who have tickets.
