So, the way this reads, MM possibly could be the executive producer and the whole album seems to be created there, in one major development effort.
One thing that does surprise me is that the whole story seems to have shifted a bit. In 2013 Adam talked about writing on his album for the whole second half of the year, except for Glee and those year end concerts, of course. At the time it was mostly a 'liking more rock lately' - alternative rock, electronic rock direction that I heard in his very few hints.
No it does not mean that Max Martin is Executive Producer. It means he will have producer credit for a lot of songs on the album.
Look at PRISM -- Max Martin is a producer on many tracks. Katy Perry is Executive Producer.
My guess is Adam is Exec Producer on this album. It may be shared.

I am not sure that Joe Janiak talking to Billboard is a planned leak on not. But coming on the heals of yesterday's statement to Tove Lo makes that likely.
>> I say planned leak.
I hope this means a single in May. We know there is some kind of release agreement in effect here related to Adam's old RCA contract. He "parted ways with RCA some time between Mid-Jan 2013 and the announcement July 12, 2013. A label release agreement has dates in it and usually a 1 year clock that starts when the release is signed.
>> There is no confirmation that there was a non-compete period but it really is the only explanation and is a common business practice for an artist the losing label thinks has strong commercial potential but who they can't reach creative agreement with.
Trespassing album released -- May 15, 2012.
Rumors about Adam parting ways from RCA, or being dropped. First I heard of this was on June 15, 2013 at Pittsburgh Pride -- it was a new rumor that RCA dropped Adam. (I did not believe it!)
Adam's letter to Shirley that he had parted ways from RCA July 12, 2013
We know that he said he started to talk to labels in early November 12, 2013.
We think he signed with someone in January 3, 2014 when he went to NYC.
I think that the clock is May 15, 2013 release agreement signed. Just guessing based on when I heard the first rumor. Trespassing + 2 years = May 15, 2014. And the dates we know line up to MAY!
November 12, 2013 (6 months?) Adam can talk to other labels.
February 12, 2014 (9 months?) Adam can work on his album. (Prior to that he was working on other recording projects.)
>> Adam goes to Sweden right around Feb 13 to work on album.
March 12, 2014 (10 months -- 60 days before release is over) Adam can begin promotion of new music.
May 12, 2014 or May 15, 2014 or later Adam can release his own music.
That is also conveniently 2 years from when Trespassing was released.
>> This is conveniently 1 month before the QAL tour starts. Perfect for promotion.

One nice thing is that Max Martin usually/always works on a guarantee that he gets a single and often the lead single. Max does not come cheap. The label will promote this single.RCA A&R got album songs that were already written and not released -- FYE (left over Dr. Luke Track), WWFM (left over Pink-Max Martin track), IIHY (pre-written Mad Lib track from Max Martin, Shellback and Savin), BTIKM (old track that Claude Kelly had written in 2010) and NCOE (unused Bruno Mars track).
This is a real writing camp with Adam working on the songs!! With some of the best people in the pop world.IF THIS ALBUM IS NOT A MEGA POP HIT, than Adam's destiny lies somewhere else.
I think it will be a MEGA HIT! Stars so far are all lined up for our VOCAL SUPERSTAR! Part time Queen frontman. Grammy nominated. #1 album maker.
