Funny story( completely OT) : Needacoke tweeted a pic of her recovering from a minor surgery, and instead of focusing on her bandaged leg, my eyes zeroed on a fanart of Adam standing on her shelf, remember that most beautiful one by Animated, which I had as my avi for a long time... I felt as if I'd seen myself there:) Weird. Oh, back to the point: I'm a bad person. Plus, this story connects four Atoppers: Needacoke, Animated, me, and also Bamafan, who gave the photo to Needacoke as a gift, I guess:) It's nice:)
It's not OT Aleks....that gorgeous mosaic fan art design by Animated called "Magic" is of ADAM and he connects us all. I loved it as your avi  and I made me a high gloss wall art of the same design (walmart.com) but in blacks, tans, etc. called "Cracked Glass" by animated. I loved mine so much that I made the "Magic" one, your avi, for needacoke's new condo. And you saw it today in that picture that she tweeted of her foot. I love the fact that this gorgeous image connects us all!

Aleks your story reminds me of one amazing fan moment in my life.
When the Glam Nation Tour started my life was very complicated and it looked like I would not be able to go to one concert.
My task at the time required me to leave my work, home and family, to move in with my mother who was in her late 80's and to get her into assisted living. For starters, I never got along with my mom. And if you have ever had to do this transition, to get someone to move out of their home and find a suitable, nice, place for her to live, it is HARD. I was lonely, unhappy, depressed, and only long calls to friends and family in my real home, and this fandom keep me above water. But I was just treading water.
My mom lives outside of Philadelphia and the first GNT concert was in Wilkes Barre about 2 hours away. After 4 weeks, things were in place, the tour was starting and I did not have a ticket for Wilkes Barre. :(
Someone I did not know from this fanbase offered me a ticket to the concert (back on Planet Fierce) -- a ticket in the rafters -- I think it was the last row. I said yes. Told my sister that she had our mom for a week. And went to the concert and a few more that week.
When I arrived in Wilkes Barre, I learned that this fan had upgraded on Stubhub to ROW 3. So not only was I at THE concert, I was in f'ing ROW 3.
I went to many more GNT concerts. But that first concert, after 4 weeks of hell, was like a gift from god.
Since then, I have benefited from many random acts of kindness from Adam fans and observed many more. I have tried to do the same for others when I can. But for the rest of my life, I will always be thankful for that moment when a "stranger" offered me a ticket to a concert. A small act that went on to change me life -- in many, many more ways than I can imagine.

Now I have turned into a junkie who travels the world in search of Adam Lambert concert thrills!

Well, guess I'm not much of a pop fan. Haven't heard of half of them, and don't really like the others. Adam has a lot to offer, but not in any of these boxes, IMO. ETA: And that would mean he stays in pop? Had so hoped for some other direction. Oh well, I'll wait and see and buy music anyway  you've heard half more than I have but at least I am familiar with the artist's names now, five years ago those names would've been unknown as well... not checking the music though... I learned to stay with Adam and now Queen only - much safer for me  [laughs] Oh c'mon guys! I can't be the only one here who knows every song on that list. They're all HUGE !!! |

Whoa. I had no idea max Martin was responsible for all those songs!!! And he's been a hit maker for a long time!!! Some of those songs are older than my children.  |
