I have a question about the QAL tour. How will Brian, Roger and Adam get from venue to venue? Fly? Private jet? How does the equipment get there? Semi's? Do they leave enough time between dates to allow that to happen? My guess is private jet for the principal's like Adam, Brian, Roger, Rufus, Neil, and Spike. Semis for the equipment. Buses for the crew. If you notice, wherever there is a long distance between shows, like Vancouver and San Jose, there are several days open. I imagine that is for travel time! I am just guessing though. This whole tour is driveable. There are only 3 long trips: 6/28 Vancouver Pepsi Live at Rogers Arena to 7/1 San Jose SAP Center 979 miles - 2 day break. 7/6 Las Vegas The Joint 7/9 Houston Toyota Center 1,470 miles - 2 day break 7/10 Dallas American Airlines Center 7/12 Detroit The Palace of Auburn Hills 1,187 miles - this is the tightest one and that is not so bad. 24 hour drive. They will just change out the dirvers. Regarding private jets -- maybe, maybe not. Many top artists choose to have a luxury tour buss and only fly for the long trips. I seem to recall reading that Brian and Roger preferred to use buses. I am sure that Live Nation would be happy to give them a jet for 6 weeks if they want it. They might make it gold-plated if they added another 5 more concerts. Whatever they do, Brian, Roger and Adam will be traveling is style. >> Katy Perry mostly uses a bus. Gaga used a bus for most of Monster Ball Tour. Taylor Swift uses a bus. The tour set is large and has effects -- so the crew will be big. My guess is this will be a Live Nation production to Roger's specs. And probably 15+ trucks (just based on the stage area and effects we know of and Queen's past productions). I do not think this will be the scale of MDNA but this article about that tour's set and logistics is interesting: www.tpimagazine.com/production-profiles/1594407/madonnas_mdna.html

Thanks Q3. My bad! For punishment, I have to sit in the corner for the rest of the afternoon, wearing plaid pants... Oh NO hwc! The horror! ETA: For the sake of my mental health, dude, please put your old name in your sig' line. I can't ever recognize your new login name. Or, if you want, you *do* have the option of renaming yourself in this new ProBoards format. Its discomboulating seeing your very unique snark with a different title.

Talon thanks for the great post about "Stony Cold Crazy". I remain puzzled about how little credit Queen gets for this early seminal work from general music fans and from the Grammy voters which represent a very broad slice of the US/English language music industry. *** I wonder how different the perception of Adam would be if he came to prominence on Idol as a musician/rock frontman who worked in musicals and doing session work to pay the bills? Instead he was positioned as "theatrical", liking costumes and make-up, etc. Setting aside all the issues with the scum bastards involved with Citizen Vein, I just was thinking about Adam and rock credibility. *** Just one killer performance of "Stone Cold Crazy" with Queen reminding people that they are the originators of this entire genre, and with Adam ripping up the vocal universe would be all over the metal sites on the web within 30 minutes. Just my own little dream. I too often wonder why it gets overlooked. There are some in the heavy metal/hard rock circle who always say Queen didn't rock hard enough. Pshaw. THey didn't all the time because they chose to be experimental. But they could rock with the best of them and sometimes did! That's pretty strong language around here.
