I'm new here although I have been lurking for years. I've had some really rough patches over the last several years and I want to thank everyone at Adamtopia for all that they do. When I needed to take my mind off my problems, I would come here for a smile and a respite from everyday life. The main reason I chose to delurk now is that I have tickets to the first show at Mohegan sun. It is my first time seeing Adam live and I am beyond excited. Thanks also for the info on buying tickets. It was very helpful as I was on vacation and did not have a computer. I was hysterically trying to buy tickets on my cell phone! As to the Kris Allen discussion, I feel bad for Kris. He was a real friend to Adam. I actually remember one interview where he apologized for winning! WELCOME jonan!

Love the Rolling Stone's caption of the pic: NO TIME FOR LOSERS / Lambert and May I'm reading the thread backwards again! Is this real?? Is this article really in the current print issue of RS? Yay!!!! Real print paper edition!

I just hate it sounded so bad. There are very few Adam performances that are that out of tune I remember Eber saying it was the roughest Adam performance he had seen. I have always thought the fall was the catalyst for everything that happened after. If not for the kiss the AMA's would have been remembered as the performance Adam fell and had bad vocals. The whole incident was the perfect set up for WWFM Adam was going to do an outrageous performance at some pointat some point. But I wish that his most famous performance to date had been accompanied by better singing and included a more singable song. It had the needed effect of making Adam famous. So all's good that ends well. But brilliant -- not sure that I can go that far. The slow gothic piano intro, the set, the choreo, even Adam's suit and spiked hair were not brilliant IMO. And giving the finger to the audience was unneeded, not thoughtful -- and thankfully not broadcast. The AMAs had no subtlety. Not all Adam's doing -- the production design, costumes and chero, and the arrangement boxed him in. >> I love Adam and I am glad he got that gothic piano intro composed by famed David Bowie collaborator Mike Garson, but it was just not the right song to add that too. >> The ninja roll and his ability to pick up the music and keep going, that was one for the ages. IMO the FYE music video was great, and hit a good balance of using the Dom role metaphorically while presenting Adam as the entertainer who is in charge of you, who will own you. It portrayed the dual meaning of the lyrics. And he had that wonderful crooked smile and snake. It was a bit like S&M via Cabaret and Baz Luhrmann. That worked more effectively for me. Adam coming out of the closet to shock you. Not my cuppa. The FYE video is beautiful, artsy and sexy without vulgarity. I watched it last night after the BTS video. I was surprised how many new (last 2 weeks) comments are on the video. Most appear to be new fans. I even saw someone question if Adam might be gay. Many comments read young so I am assuming they saw him on Glee. My favorite comment someone suggested FYE is the perfect theme song for "50 Shades of Gray"

Re: My post about the Adam/Kris AI experience
I stand by what I wrote. Kris Allen was a 23 year old young man from Arkansas in 2009, a novice at being thrown into the spotlight, and I think he handled the provocative questions from the press in the best way he knew how. He wasn't articulate, mumbled at times and was often difficult to understand. I think he showed courage in his willingness to stand by Adam at a time when the political climate was even less tolerant than it is now, especially in the state in which he was born and raised.
As I said before, I'm not a fan of Kris'.My love and respect for Adam and the joy he has given me through his music and beautiful persona is beyond measure. And of all the things I admire about Adam--one of the most important things- is his ability to see the best in others and to bring, as he says,"light and love" into the world.I like to think that Kris recognized that, as well, and it enabled them to help each other during that period of their lives together.
And, I want to thank all of you folks here at Adamtopia for being a safe place for me to share my love and joy for this amazing man who has touched my heart so deeply in a way that I can't even begin to comprehend.

scroll is my friend, scroll is my friend..... Water under the bridge Different strokes for different folks I'll never believe they are good buds. Totally different types and at different places in their lives And I wasn't going to say this but OLFIP's fans can be just as snarky as Adam fans. It's the whole Idol competition meme I don't think they are close either. Someone once called them summer-camp friends; you know, where you swear to be best friends for ever and ever and then you go back home and completely drift apart. That's what I think Adam & Kris are like. I also admit that any snark I ever feel towards kris is very likely a product of my dislike of a number of Kris's fans. I guess I truly have nothing against kris himself. Ok, moving on.., Yep... summer camp friends and water under the bridge... but let me tell ya, I'd love to be at a dinner party with both these guys present. Can you imagine the stories they would tell each other about their last 5 years, their dealings with 19, RCA and where their lives have taken them? I'd make sure the liquor was flowing.

Ok I'm FINALLY on a computer where I can read this! IT'S SO FREAKING AWESOME !!!!My favorite section is this: Lambert is still committed to his solo career, though he refuses to label the Queen tour a side project. “This is a side-by-side project”, he says. “I do a lot of different things. Earlier this year, I did a stint on Glee. I was in Sweden this last month working on solo material. I’m actually going back to Sweden soon to continue working on that”.Adam is finally promoting the hell out of himself and EVERY LAST THING IN THIS SECTION IS GOOD !!!!!

I'll admit I'm also getting a laugh at the line: “I was always a loud singer, so I identified with the way he attacked things” ETA: Ok, the laugh may be more for metal pictures of Neil and his exasperation of Adam constantly singing, but still.
