I told a friend today that I was going to see Queen this summer. She responded with not enthusiasm, but ...awe. As if I had said I was going to see God.

Adam Lambert, Ellen DeGeneres….Best showbiz LGBT role models as same-sex marriage legal becomes legal in England!
(Adam part)
Adam Lambert is another amazing role model and one who does a lot of work with LGBT charities supporting young gay people. Last year Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa presented Lambert with the City of Hope Award as City Hall. The award honors the singer’s LGBT rights advocacy. The American Idol star was also presented with the “Equality Idol Award” by Sam Sparro at the Equality California Los Angeles Equality Awards in August 2011 for being an exemplary role model for the LGBT community.
Adams work in the area has included the release of a remixed version of his single “Aftermath” with a portion of the proceeds going to support The Trevor Project, the leading US organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBT youth. Last year Lambert teamed up with AT&T and The Trevor Project for the “Live Proud Campaign” which aimed to empower and raise awareness in the LGBT community.

Ya know, for two guys who aren't together anymore, they seem to publicly like A LOT of each other's stuff. Just say'n. clues! dots! Mashed potatoes? Seems to me that sharing those pictures from Stockholm was their way of letting their fans know they are still very close. And that may be as much as they want to share, which is fine. </img>

Tweets About Music to Get Their Own Billboard Chart www.nytimes.com/2014/03/28/business/media/tweets-about-music-to-get-a-billboard-chart.html?_r=0Chatter about music is everywhere on Twitter. Soon there will be a Billboard chart to rank all of it. ... Billboard’s Twitter charts will monitor not only the top tracks by popular artists but also “the most talked-about and shared songs by new and upcoming acts,” the companies said in a statement. ... Bob Moczydlowsky, Twitter’s head of music, called the Billboard partnership “part of an ongoing effort to make Twitter the universal signal of real-time music measurement.” ...

ETA: In a world filled with Planet Hollywood's and Hard Rock Casinos. I am not sure why Rock City bothers me so much. But I guess it is the fate of Rock music in the 21st century. It is the rock roller coasters that pushed me over the line. There is a difference between a residency and building an attraction. An rock festival attraction with amusement rides? *** Setting that aside the gap between the PR about residencies and the reality. Vegas casinos are trying really hard to stay relevant and book relevant artists. But....there is a gap there too. In residence in Las Vegas... Britney Spears (on break but coming back) Elton John (touring now but coming back) Taylor Hicks The Jacksons Guns N' Roses (The Joint at the Hard Rock) Olivia Newton-John Tool (mini residency in-Donny and Marie Osmondfill at Hard Rock) Donny and Marie Osmond Boyz II Men Meat Loaf Rod Stewart Tim McGraw and Faith Hill I do not see a lot/any current acts doing residencies in Vegas. But there is a lot of press about it -- mostly associated with Britney Spears. But "every" major tour does stop in Vegas for a concert. Gaga, Katy, JT, etc. Just wanted to add that Bruno Mars is doing a mini residency at the Cosmopolitan in Vegas during 2014. Not quite the same as Brittany but a big current pop star hearing the call...$$$$$$. I left Bruno off the list because it is not a residency -- although they called it a residency. Scheduled shows: Dec. 29 and 31, 2013 Feb. 15-16, 2014 May 23-24, 2014 and Aug. 22-23, 2014. I just fail to see what someone playing Las Vegas has to do with building a rock attraction. What made me go ewew was the Rock in Rio attraction on the strip -- City of Rock. Not acts playing Vegas. This is to Rock what New York New York is to Manhattan, and the Luxor is to the Great Pyramid of Giza. What next? Lollapalooza on the Strip? Woodstock at Caesar's?
