Stalking the Glee boards for "Rockstar". Someone in the Philippines has already uploaded all the Blaine songs, but refuses to do songs that don't have Darren featured in them.
[grins evilly] Whatever happened to the meme that Adam songs "always get uploaded first??"

>> Live autotuning is what is annoying to me. Adam does not use autotuning live. Many, many top-tier artists now do. It is hard to tell who is having corrections made anymore because some artists only do it for really bad notes. Live autotuning is completely cheating. Rihanna, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Britney, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Bruno and JT all are using primary vocal tracks to enhance or replace their live vocals. This pisses me off in the same way that Photoshop is now so prevalent that people don't know what a non-airbrushed person looks like anymore. Everything is artificial perfection, so natural amazingness is now almost non-appreciated (or automatically assumed to be faked).

Saw it. Yes, Boy George. Good performances. There is a market for that type of singing and I'd like to hear Adam do more of it--and be on SNL.

I just got this quote in a puzzle. It seems appropriate to today's discussion.
""No good work whatever can be perfect, and the demand for perfection is always a sign of a misunderstanding of the ends of art. "
— John Ruskin

I know that saying well. I use it frequently. Dates me I'm sure.
I hasten to add I NEVER use it in connection with AFL!

Just watched Glee tonight here in NZ. It was Frenimies, very good episode overall, Adams acting is very good, some of his quips, traits etc. Come across as his natural personality, he jus. T seems so natural and casual in his acting. His performance of Darkness overall was awesome. The Rachel Santana storyline was really good too, overall great episode. Hope Adam returns because he really has revitalized Glee this seaaon, i noticed too scenes progressed much smoother when it was just NY, so good its moving their full time, it well be interesting too see how they write Elliot out, and if or how they leave the door open for him to return in S6. It seems almost 100% certain that they will have Elliott leave in a way that they can bring him back. What is less certain is if Adam will make time to come back to GLEE. My money is on a reappearance in Season 6. And Joaquin tweeted about wanting him back soon, so if they hadn't left his storyline open for that possibility, he would certainly know it!

This pisses me off in the same way that Photoshop is now so prevalent that people don't know what a non-airbrushed person looks like anymore. Everything is artificial perfection, so natural amazingness is now almost non-appreciated (or automatically assumed to be faked). To use a sports analogy - if every kid on a specific Little League is secretly handed a corked bat, pretty much every last one of them is going to have the ability to knock baseballs out of the park. They'll crush all the opposing teams who then starts secretly handing *their* kids doctored bats until the attitude becomes "Everybody is doing it. I have no chance without cheating" AND IT WILL BE TRUE. Because hitting "perfection" has become the accepted norm. It may not have anything to do with ability, but its the norm. Of course its only the norm for people who can afford the doctored bats. Everyone else stops playing. Likewise, autotuning has become such the new normal that a real voice is almost an anachronism. And when its done at the highest levels, in such a way that the artificial looks natural, it almost becomes what's the point in TRYING to be technically good anymore. Pay enough money to the men with smoke and mirrors and you too can be the revered perfect person.

There was a big discussion about Sam Smith on twitter last night (my feed anyway). I loved his voice when I first heard him but I'm finding it doesn't wear so well. Midway through the song it starts to sound shrill to my ears. Maybe I'm just wondering why he got a spot on snl so quickly and Adam still hasn't been on the show. I hope I'm being objective and it's not just sour grapes LOL. His voice sounds well suited for Country imo.
