EXCLUSIVE: Lyrics From Adam Lambert's New Song Leaked!
By Ziwei March 31, 2014
Sending out an alert to our beloved Glamberts, this is an update of utmost importance!
A source close to the fabulous sexiness that is Adam Lambert has revealed exclusive information to us regarding his upcoming third studio album!
Lately the superstar has been pretty busy with his television work, from mentoring on American Idol to appearing on Glee, but it seems that the former Idol runner-up is back in the studio and recording again with pop super-producer Max Martin, and a handful of ace songwriters, in Sweden.
Our source, who prefers to remain anonymous, has sent over an image that shows lyrics for a new song. The song is said to be very personal, with underlying messages in the lyrics! Seems like Adam has been taking songwriting lessons from Ms. Taylor Swift.
We wonder who or what the song is about and when (if ever) it will be released, but we are very sure Glamberts are absolutely thrilled for this piece of news!
To celebrate the start of this new era, we are giving away a set of autographed Adam Lambert albums (Trespassing and For Your Entertainment) to one lucky Glambert!

80 days to go…to QAL!!
3.31.14 by Q3
There are 80 days until Chicago…and the question I have been thinking about is what will Adam sing on this tour?
Assuming they change out a few songs during the tour, and do 22 – 24 unique songs a night (excluding the guitar and drum solos), there could be around 30 songs performed in these concerts. And hopefully, I get a lot of them in my countdown. But that won’t be easy -- the Queen catalog is so big, the potential cover list is almost a universe, and there is a chance that they could also decide to perform an Adam song.
I have been using the 80's in this countdown to profile some of the more unusual Queen tracks. Most have little or no chance of making the setlist. Today's countdown song, does have a chance and would be a real treat for Queen fans.
#80 “Jesus" (1972)
Written by Freddie Mercury.
Released July 13, 1973 on Queen; never released as a single.
I will close out the 80’s in the countdown with the most unusually song Freddie ever wrote. A heavy metal song about Jesus, simply titled “Jesus”. It will not be performed by Queen + Adam Lambert.
Why did Freddie write a song about Jesus when he wasn’t a Christian?
I have heard and read many comments about this song that go something like, “He was not a Christian, but a Zoroastrian, so why did he write a song about Jesus?”
My two flip answers to this question are:
1. Jesus was not a Christian either, he was a Jew.
2. Irving Berlin was not a Christian and was born in Russia and he wrote, "White Christmas", "Easter Parade" and "God Bless America."
But a more serious response is that Freddie was a Parsi Zoroastrian who was raised in Anglo-Christian influenced countries, attended Christian schools and was very familiar with Christianity and Jesus. And in 1971, when this song was written, Jesus, Christianity and spirituality was a major theme in rock music, particularly in early heavy metal music.
Freddie was born in Zanzibar, but was a Parsis (from Greater Persia) whose ancestors emigrated to India , Mercury and his family practiced theZoroastrian religion. Freddie, however, at the age of eight, was sent to live with his grandmother and aunt in India and attended St. Peter's School, a British-style Christian boarding school for boys in Panchgani near Bombay (now Mumbai), India. It was at St. Peter's that he began to call himself "Freddie". Mercury remained in India, living with his grandmother and aunt until he completed his education at St. Mary's School, Bombay. When he was 17, Freddie and his family left Zanzibar for the UK because of the 1964 Zanzibar Revolution, in which thousands of Arabs and Indians were killed.
At the age of eight, Mercury was officially initiated into the Zoroastrian faith, and his parents were devout throughout their lifetime. Freddie himself didn’t talk about his faith and rarely practiced it in any depth, even though he remained a Zoroastrian for the duration of his life and Zoroastrian priests officiated his funeral.
Zoroastrianism arose in the eastern region of the ancient Persian Empire, when the religious philosopher Zoroaster simplified the pantheon of early Iranian gods[ into two opposing forces: Spenta Mainyu (Progressive mentality) and Angra Mainyu (Destructive Mentality) under Ahura Mazda (Illuminating Wisdom) in the 7th century BCE. Zoroaster's ideas led to a formal religion bearing his name by about the 6th century BCE.
Zoroastrianism is considered the first monotheistic religion, though scholars often dispute whether or not it is truly monotheistic. Zoroastrianism included a conception of heaven and hell and a theology based around the struggle between good and evil supernatural entities that is similar to the beliefs of the three Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam..
"Jesus" the song
The lyrics tell part of the story of Jesus of Nazareth. The track features a two-chord rhythm section during the verses with a long instrumental break toward the end of the song. Because of the effects created by May's Red Special guitar, among other things, many early followers of Queen viewed the band as something of a psychedelic rock band.
If fact, many of the songs that Freddie wrote on the first Queen album contained references God, Jesus, the Bible or Christian ideas.
One outtake from the Queen recording sessions, "Mad the Swine", was basically about a Jesus-type figure making a second coming.
"Great King Rat": "The great Lord before he died, with nailed sinners by his side, said 'you’re going to realise tommorow'" referencing the man on the cross next to Jesus who put his faith in him as he died and Jesus promised him paradise by his side when they were to die.
"Lair" is interpreted by some as being a confessional, trying to sort out all the sins in his life, trying to repent or become clean and directed in the right way.
The effects created by Brian May's guitar in the lengthy instrumental break led to the band being labeled "Psychedelic Rock" by many critics in Queen's early years. This was not a compliment at the time.
Brian commented on the Queen debut album and said, "We like some of the stuff on it, but we sometimes fell into the trap of over-arrangement. You know, the songs changed over the years and some of them probably evolved too much. You can get so far into something that you forget what the song originally was. But you have to get away from the idea that playing music is a competition. You should just keep on doing what you think is an interesting thing to do."
"Jesus" Live Performances
“Jesus” was performed by Queen in many early concerts, but as far as I can determine, there are no recordings of those performances.
There are no records of setlists from many of the early 1970-1972 Queen concerts, but fans who attended these event report that “Jesus” was a regular part of most concerts in late 1971 and throughout 1972. I did find documentation for two performances of “Jesus” so some of the online reports that this song was never performed are incorrect.
King's College, London, England on March 10, 1972

“Jesus” (De Lane Lea Demo)
In September 1971* Queen put together a “polished” demo tape of five songs: "Keep Yourself Alive", "The Night Comes Down", "Great King Rat", "Jesus", and "Liar". The plan was to use this demo to get signed to a label. As a result, we have a recording of an early version of these 5 songs. This version of Jesus is preferred by many over the album track.
* The date of the demo recording is not known.

The De Lane Lea Demos
Around September 1971, Brian May met up with an old friend, Terry Yeadon, who was involved in the setting up of a new recording studio in Wembley called De Lane Lea. The studios needed musicians to try out the new equipment they had installed - and preferably a band who could play loud! The deal was that the musicians would record using the equipment, and potential studio users would be on hand to hear and watch them.
In return for their services the band could record their demos for free. It was an opportunity not to be missed and, of course Queen jumped at it. Not only would they be able to make the all important demo tapes, but they would have ample occasion to meet producers and engineers, people who could be vital to their future. The rest is history.............

Jesus” Lyrics
Written by Freddie Mercury
And then I saw Him in the crowd
A lot of people had gathered round Him
The beggars shouted the lepers called Him
The old man said nothing
He just stared about him
All going down to see the Lord Jesus
All going down to see the Lord Jesus
All going down
Then came a man before His feet he fell
Unclean said the leper and rang his bell
Felt the palm of a hand touch his head
Go now go now you're a new man instead
All going down to see the Lord Jesus
All going down to see the Lord Jesus
All going down
It all began with the three wise men
Followed a star took them to Bethlehem
And made it heard throughout the land
Born was a leader of man
All going down to see the Lord Jesus
All going down to see the Lord Jesus
All going down
It all began with the three wise men
Followed a star took them to Bethlehem
And made it heard throughout the land
Born was a leader of man
All going down to see the Lord Jesus
All going down to see the Lord Jesus
All going down
The Adam Connection
This is an easy one -- if I can stretch it a bit from "Jesus" to "Jesus Christ Superstar." Adam has said many times he wants to play the part of Judas in a remake of Jesus Christ Superstar (film). He even suggest Jared Leto for the part of Jesus.
Judas gets to sing most of the good songs in JCS.
"Heaven on Their Minds" – Judas
"What's the Buzz" / "Strange Thing Mystifying" – Apostles, Jesus, Mary, Judas, Peter, Wo
"Everything's Alright" – Mary, Women, Judas, Jesus, Apostles
"Damned For All Time" / "Blood Money" – Judas, Annas, Caiaphas, Chorus
"The Last Supper" – Apostles, Jesus, Judas
"The Arrest" – Judas, Jesus, Peter, Apostles, Ensemble, Annas, Caiaphas
"Judas' Death" – Judas, Annas, Caiaphas, Chorus
"Superstar" – Judas, Soul Sisters, Angels

As long as you are willing to sell your ticket to a member for what you paid for it, you can post any "for sale" tickets in the Members Only section in the concert thread for the event.
A couple suggestions:
1. If you have a Ticketmaster ticket, you can transfer it on Ticketmaster for most concerts (not Auburn Hills, MI)
2. If you purchased a VIP Fan Package, the merchandise will be shipped to the purchaser’s address. If you wish to give this to the buyer with the ticket, remember you will need to mail it.
