Here is the definition from the Urban Dictionary, a dictionary which we all know Adam is very familiar with  : Postmodern A word one often uses in reasearch or other academic writing while in the careful art of bullshitting. I just had a brainwave re Adam's most post modern performance: Ring of Fire. Song by one of the most revered icons of country music, sung on Country week of a reality singing contest by a young gay musical theatre singer, in middle eastern style, dressed in classic Rock attire, wearing make-up and nail polish. You don't get much more post modern than that hahaha... Loved this post Mszue! |

UMMM thanks back midwifes pal....am I that predictable lol!! pomo gets a bad rap though...cynicism may be part of it for some, but that is not the core. Most of our best art and film are made with pomo sensibilities today. Every time you watch a film or read a book that floats with multiple narrators or mixes times and/or generations; anytime a book or film consciously breaks the fourth wall without a designated character [like voice over or MC..those are not pomo]. Art that uses mixed materials to add layers of meaning. Performance art s 'art' over performance.....architecture where form rules over or alters purpose....yada yada yada....I now desist...haha  I'm so sorry mszue. I was reading your post on a cell phone with tiny print and I kept reading the first two lines as "porno" vs "pomo". And I was thinking "Well that all fine and good, but what the heck does that have to do with Adam's album ??" |
