What is a "completely post-modern affair"?

Post-modern can be interpreted in a number of ways. Let me come back to that!
We did learn a bit that was more clear. Adam Tweeted that the album will be diverse, and that genre is irrelevant. So I think it is a safe bet that he will be continuing to explore music without total consideration of genre boundaries. He also tweeted it will be "sonically diverse" which I interpret as meaning the album will include a mix of tempos and moods and reinforces the idea that it will not be genre specific. And he said it will be "honest." I think anyone who follows Adam expected all of this.
But the really new bit was the reference to "post-modern."
This is something subject to interpretation. But since Adam tweeted that "Genre is irrelevant," that eliminates that genre of music referred to as "Postmodern." that developed during the late 1960s largely as a product of the large-scale social changes at that time.
Rather, I believe he is referring to the concept or philosophy of Postmodernism, that is, the absence of one defining structure or ideology. Musicians who create in the postmodern style often draw stylistic inspiration from a wide array of contradictory areas and disregard formal rules that they believe constrict creativity.

There are 79 days until Chicago…and the question I have been thinking about is what will Adam sing on this tour?
Assuming they change out a few songs during the tour, and do 22 – 24 unique songs a night (excluding the guitar and drum solos), there could be around 30 songs performed in these concerts. And hopefully, I get a lot of them in my countdown. But that won’t be easy -- the Queen catalog is so big, the potential cover list is almost a universe, and there is a chance that they could also decide to perform an Adam song.
I have been using the 80's in this countdown to profile some of the more unusual Queen tracks. Most have little or no chance of making the setlist. Today's countdown song, does have a chance and would be a real treat for Queen fans.
#79 “Mustpha" (1978)
Written by Freddie Mercury.
Released as the first track on Jazz on November 10, 1978 and as a single in limited release.
Some artists are multi-genre. I think Queen went beyond genre. By this I mean it is hard impossible to classify some or their songs.
"Mustapha" is a song written by Freddie Mercury and recorded by Queen as the first track of their 1978 album Jazz. It has be classified by some as Arabic Rock. Circus Magazine described it as "an up-tempo Hebrew rocker.” Check the lyrics, it is definitely not a Hebrew rocker!
Let’s me say, I would love to hear Adam sing a bit of this but the chance that Queen + Adam Lambert would perform this song is 0%.

Q3 note: The recorded version pales in comparison to live performances of this song. And the live performances were what really made this a fan favorite.
Live Performances
This is another Queen fan favorite. In many concerts, fans would yell out requests for it and you can here this on some of the concert recordings.
In live performances, Freddie would often sing the opening vocals of "Mustapha" in place of the complex introduction to "Bohemian Rhapsody", going from "Allah we'll pray for you" to "Mama, just killed a man..." (I have not included recordings of this because I never heard an effective version of this intro with BoRhap. There are some on YouTube if you are interested.)
During the "Crazy Tour" in late 1979 to "The Game Tour" in 1980, Queen performed most of the song, dropping the second verse, with Mercury at the piano.

The lyrics consist of English, Arabic, Persian and possibly a number of invented words. Some understandable words are "Mustapha", "Ibrahim" and the phrases "Allah, Allah, Allah we'll pray for you", "salaam alaykum" and "alaykum salaam".
