FYI Just wanted to mention in case people don't know about it.. has everyone heard of Pinterest? It's a really great easy way to "collect" photos, videos, articles, etc. of Adam on an online bulletin board. As long as there's a photo of some kind to "pin", you can pin it to your bulletin board and once on your board, you can click on it and it will take you back to the source of your pin. So for those of us who are more visual, it's a great visual reference tool for any collections you might be interested in, from Adam to art to recipes or whatever.. and you can organize your collections onto different boards of your choosing. Everything, except the boards you make invisible, on your pinterest boards are visible to the international pinterest community, and if you find something you like on someone else's board, you can pin it onto your own board.. so there's a lot of visual sharing there. This really beats bookmarking hands down! But be forewarned.. it can be a little addictive.  But it's fun to "collect" online without cluttering up your own physical space with collections. :D www.pinterest.comETA looking at all these amazing photos of Adam reminded me about pinterest.. as I was looking at the photos, the pinterest icon shows up on the photos that can be pinned. |

While postmodernism is a difficult concept to define rigorously, it
is possible to characterize postmodern music by the some or all of the
following traits. It
1. is not simply a repudiation of modernism or its continuation, but
has aspects of both,
2. is, on some level and in some way, ironic;
3. does not respect boundaries between sonorities and procedures of
the past and of the present;
4. seeks to break down barriers between "highbrow" and "lowbrow"
styles;
5. shows disdain for the often unquestioned value of structural unity;
6. refuses to accept the distinction between elitist and populist values;
7. avoids totalizing forms (e.g., does not allow an entire piece to be
tonal or serial or cast in a prescribed formal mold);
