I don't mind a bit of well done art here and there - there have been a couple that are very very good by any objective and non-objective standard, but when it is post after post of painting and drawings of Adam from photos or photo montages of Adam Adam Adam my scroll finger gets a bit tired and I usually jump forward a few pages to avoid. While I appreciate the effort that goes into it I can always pop into the gallery thread if I want a fix.
Suspect won't be an issue soon as we will have real news to focus on...
My 2 cents only (and probably not even worth that much)

I for one, will miss seeing all the fan art. Granted some I have enjoyed more than others, but I would hate to have to be the one to judge what is good enough to be posted. Not everyone has time to go to multiple threads each day and scrolling is easy enough, we all do that at some point or another. The fan art is not going away I hope!! Not the intent of my post. *** My post was an attempt to say, new fan art, relevant fan art, something appropriate for the news thread -- post away.

Q3, I don't understand why you are criticizing OUT Magazine for the comments they printed from Tyler Glenn. Can you explain. Thanks, Clueless It appears that Tyler planned to correct his RS interview omission when he did the OUT interview. And he may well have done that ineptly but he certainly did not write the OUT article and edit it that way. (Plus, he still has not mentioned Mary Lambert.) Here is the RS comment... So Tyler does an interview with OUT and tries to fix it. What does OUT do? The put Adam's name in the headline to get clicks (OUT editors right the headlines) but the writer actual put the Adam mention at the end of the article and clearly edited the quote. Tyler's quote about Adam doesn't even make sense... The OUT writer paraphrased it as "first issue he wants to address is Adam Lambert..." when I believe what Tyler actually said was something like the first issue he wanted to address was his omission of Adam Lambert in the Rolling Stone interview. Then the quote that follows does not really make sense. So while I think that Tyler needs PR help (or maybe should just go back to playing music.) I am convinced that OUT mangled that quote and the way it was presented. OUT has a history of butchering things in the way they present interviews. So I do not trust them. And the end of this article makes not sense to me. >> And frankly, he would have been better off saying that Adam is great and too bad he has not gotten the same support on radio and in the market that Macklemore has gotten. That would have been my advice to him. And Tyler should really, really have mentioned Mary Lambert! And why didn't OUT remember Mary Lambert? Thanks, much. Now I understand better.

On the fan art, just follow the rules. If you do not like it, be respectful in your critique. It is really easy -- and I am not being flip -- do what Adam would do! He is honest but kind.

I think I haven't previously commented on the fan art posting question raised a couple of times recently. I have no problem with members who post their own art, what I'm addressing here is posting all that's tweeted. (The most ardent tweeters do tweet the same thing another day too and a systematic posting easily leads to posting the same pic several times.)
My opinion in short: on Atop we have a thread for fan art and I wish most of it would be posted there.
I do know how to scroll but it's impossible to not see the pics in the process. My handicap in all this is that I have a very good visual memory and the images stay with me for a long time. (I didn't even know before how deeply it can affect when Adam looks like a monster to my eyes.)
I think there has been only a few pics of the type aleks pointed out posted here. They are creepy but surprisingly I can shrug or laugh at them - in a way, it has been enlightening to see how many ways there are to modify images. Less enlightening has been to see how to destroy beautiful pics. In some manipulations I see an artistic idea but most of them are just repugnant to me. Also most of the so-called enhancements usually make the pics worse, IMO. I find the subtle manipulative attempts the most dangerous because they can be taken as 'real' when they are not.
Where to draw a line then? I suggest we post fant art from secondary sources to the thread designated for that - be it art or manipulations (as in crop and combine for example). Post to news thread if it's your own or something that especially moved you (that you find worth sharing) or a beautiful enhancement or an example of a style you find intriguing etc. When you post an example with a link to the twitter account, I think one pic is enough, just mention there is more if that's the case. Please always mention in the post when it's an art or enhancement or manipulation. (And maybe sometimes you could resize the pic smaller?)
I believe my suggestions wouldn't take too much away from people who enjoy it all but it would be a big help for people who mostly scroll and/or are only looking for news (and maybe have a limited time to spend to it).
