Start the day way before me....Well, before I go to sleep yesterday LOL - well I have always described that time difference in X hours ahead but a day behind...

[laughs] My Dad, a product of British boarding schools, is fanatic about his morning tea. Whenever I go home, the teapot is in the middle of the breakfast table, and everyone is expected to partake of a cup. However, (much to my parent's general horror) my morning beverage is Diet Coke. And yes, I may be personally responsible for much of Coca-Cola's success in the United States. Actually bought stock in it in college (I think its one of the only solo stocks I possess) since I figured if I was subsidizing it so much, might as well see if I could get a dividend. Hate coffee. Don't even like the smell of it. Hoppers, you are me. My Dad not a product of boarding schools, but very English. Diet Coke-check Smell of coffee yuck-check Never drank coffee ever. I tried it once. I did work through my initial aversion to wine! Did not buy stock. Sadz.

First of.. Sooo glad Adam's back at home. He did say he would spend a month in Sweden and it's a month ago since the Queen announcement and his interview. Hopefully it means that he has all the songs ready and send to the label. Now we're just waiting to see if Adam suddenly make a trip to NY. .. which means talking to his label company .. or one that's in LA.
Second of.. Looks like we're talking about beverages because of the Lipton Ice Tea advertisement and the use of Lay Me Down. Talking about beverages... I am a hot tea, ice tea, hot coffee, ice coffee/latte and soda drinker . Some people with chronic migraine cannot consume caffeine, but it works the opposite for me. Hot coffee doesn't make my migraine go away but it help a little.. Usually hot coffee with cream in the morning, but since I'm into smoothie/Nutribullet now.. smoothie/juice's my breakfast now and hot coffee after lunch. I'm trying to reduce my soda habit though.

Almost everything Avicii makes is very dance-able. But I just can't get through this remix. It could be the modding of Adam's voice, but the rhythm sounds disjointed to me as well. And not in a nice or even interesting way. As if the vocals don't match with the music. I really like most of the other remixes. Shame on me is a really nice one. Avicii used a lot of those remixes (or versions of them) in the show that I was at, instead of the originals. I really admire the fact that you can get past the modded vocals, maybe I should give it a few relistens, see if it grows on me. But I'd much rather see the original LMD go far! Love that song, and I would be so happy for Adam. Did you hear my "unchipmunked" version? picosong.com/ewkT/BTW you're totally right in saying the vocals don't match the music. Not sure if this was mentioned before but it was originally a remix of Wake Me Up. Try singing Wake Me Up over the chipmunked version and it'll fit perfectly. So you've got Lay Me Down's melody over Wake Me Up's chord progression which is quite different to LMD's. The reason Adam is chipmunked in the first place is cause Wake Me Up is in B and Lay Me Down is in A, so they had to raise Adam's voice two semitones to fit it. Why didn't they just make LMD its own remix?? Who knows.

No one in my family is from England or was educated in British boarding schools. Perhaps that is why I drink about 4 cups of coffee and have 6 shots of espresso each day.

Back to Adam -- just so we have a starting point....
LMD on iTunes main chart -- in the Top 400 in 1 country.
Lay Me Down #174 Qatar

a side note…..
I went up to New York today to see another Broadway Show.. I lucked out and saw "The Bridges of Madison County" I HIGHLY recommend this musical. It was a love affair. I believe there was a movie made featuring Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood.
The music was beautiful i hope it gets the Tony award next year. One thing I noticed which I haven't hard, was the main character, Thomas Kincaid sings acoustic. It was really gorgeous.
Adam related?? I would love to hear Adam in this role, This is the type of music I believe Adam could blow out the theater attendees. Or maybe this style of music is what i prefer rather than pop. Adam has such quality in his voice and range. This musical was made for him
It was that good.

OMG - We used to sing this in high school for barbershop! (Ok - it was my high school boyfriend, but they sang this *all-the-time* in class!)
