Delurking to say: thanks for the birthday wishes!
i can't stand ice tea or coffee but love my hot tea! Don't remember having difficulty in getting a decent cup of hot tea when I was in the US a few years ago. NZ are big drinkers of both coffee and hot tea. Ice tea is becoming g more popular here, bit it is relatively new.
And... I am sure that Lipton commercial was filmed in my city of Auckland here in NZ! At least part of it was as there are several places that I recognise! And The Zorb (the plastic ball thingsie) was invented here. Wonder if the commercial will screen here?

Love the "tea" discussion. Since my daily office dose is usually 1,7 lt(=57oz = the amount my teapot holds) I should jump right in with details. But I am purely a fruit and herbal gal - it is stewing and cooling on my desk all day long as it goes, I can't contribute much value LOL

No need to be sorry Q3! The tea/coffee history really is interesting and necessary background that you were referring to earlier. Actually, I was trying to pull out the punchline. I got it and all the additional data gives a food for thought, thanks.

I'm just glad it's a sunny, summery commercial (perfect intro for a spring/summer single?), also the product is nice, it could have easily been something less nice. I love Lipton Ice Tea:) I wish Adam emphasized his own contribution to the song in his tweet.
The video Adam tweeted has a surprisingly small number of views. Would it be a worthwhile mission to hit that, saying we're there for Adam's voice? Use the internet media power he has to show that having an Adam song is a wise marketing move? I don't know.
That Stockholm promo video is really effective, and it's all true. I wish I lived there.

Yipes! Talk about mangling quotes!?!? At least they used the new AWESOME!! picture! Adam Lambert Should Be Pop Culture’s Gay Spokesperson, Says Neon Trees Starby SAM on Apr 9, 2014 • 8:30 pm • Find me on Google+ 0 Comments Adam Lambert on Instagram Neon Trees frontman Tyler Glenn is looking for a hero. He wants somebody to step up, and be the frontman for gay popstars and for gay pop culture everywhere. Somebody besides “Thrift Shop” rapper Macklemore, that is. And Tyler knows just the glittery guy, the most glamtastic, pyro-voiced man for the job. Tyler told Rolling Stone recently that he’s pretty bugged ‘bout “straight” musicians becoming the voice for the LGBT community. “I’ve gotten tired of kind-of gay or straight people being pop culture’s gay [spokespeople],” the singer said. “Like Macklemore.” Tyler continued by explaining that, “It makes me wonder: ‘Are we ready for an actual gay pop star, and not just the safe straight guy saying it’s OK?’ “I appreciate the fact that [REM singer] Michael Stipe was able to just be who he was, and it rarely overshadowed the music,” the Neon Trees frontman said. Tyler went further then, in an interview with Out Magazine. He explained that glam rocker Adam Lambert was his idea of the right man for the job — at the same time, expressing his dismay at having left the superstar singer out of his earlier comments to Rolling Stone.
“I didn’t want [Adam] to think I was leaving him out,” Tyler told Out. “[So] I’ll use Out.com to say that I enjoy him!” Seeing the Neon Trees’ shout-out on the website, Adam himself then leaped in to comment back. He went on Twitter, and tweeted out: “@tylerinacoma thanks for the shout-out on the out.com article! ” Do you think Adam would make a way-more AWESOME spokesperson for gay artists than Macklemore? Link: onepopz.com/adam-lambert-pop-cultures-gay-spokesperson-says-neon-trees-star/The Tyler reply to Adam's tweet was omitted but also did not way that!! Tyler Glenn @tylerinacoma 22h .@adamlambert ur welcome, You've helped "pave the way" so to speak, for modern gay entertainers. I was remiss to not mention in RS! X 5:02 PM - 8 Apr 2014 · Did I miss an entire OUT article? Or did they just make this up? Or what?

Since apparently the Dutch are the biggest coffee drinkers of them all I couldn't help but say something on the tea&coffee thread today. I was going to rave about the delights of real first flush tea bought in Darjeeling. But we are rightly moving on, so let me say that I made a resolution to watch some tv. I just have to catch this LMD commercial. In the meantime:
