There was some mention the other day about how Lipton made a mistake by doing a commercial with the Muppets, but I came across a video "Lipton & the Muppets #BeMoreTea US Commercial" that was posted on Feb 28th, and has 4.2 million views already! The Muppets have some fans! What you have there, is the just the Muppets, in general. Lipton has been using the Muppets as commercial characters since many, many years. And generally, of course the key characters, Hermit the frog, Miss Piggy, etc and the show as a whole, are totally engrained in American culture. Hence the high views on a video like this. Couldn't resist the lulzy typo......

I put the odds of this being played in North America at 0.00000000001%. But because it was not a hit and was mocked, not because they never performed it or Roger does not like it (which he pretty clearly does not). Setting aside some of the lyrics, the composition is really beautiful and I think that is what Brian likes (just guessing). And some parts of the lyrics are quite nice. Too bad that it would be "sacrilegious" to rewrite the lyrics. I don't necessarily disagree with that. BUT as for your reasoning, sometimes Brian has a tendency to do things against the grain to say "Screw you! It deserves to be a hit and not mocked!" etc. Sometimes...As my 3% indicates, I don't think this will be one of those times For the most part I think the lyrics are fine. They are obviously WAY too idealistic and sugary sweet for some, but I think that it's amazing that a man in Freddie's state at the time to be writing lyrics like that says a lot... OH and one more thing regarding that album as a whole - It was supposed to be a return to Queen's roots and it was...just not the way everyone thinks. It wasn't a return to Queen's hard rock roots (although part of it was) and yes there was a ton of synths, etc. BUT what it WAS a return to was a return to how they made an album. The four of them together working on tracks as a team rather than individuals bringing songs in and the others maybe appearing on it. It got the band gelling again and while the album is not a fan favorite, I do think it was a steeping stone to one of the band's greatest albums, Innuendo. I think Adam would sing this quite well and a video of all the "miracles" could go over well live...but it won't happen... Well, I have to admit, "The Miracle" was not going to make the countdown, but I was possessed by TEA because of LMD and Lipton. And this is the Queen song that had the all important "cup of TEA" reference!! Regarding the Rolling Stone review. When it comes to Queen, RS has a history of idiocy and ridiculous reviews. And they really do not like Queen -- although they have moved the reviews up over time. Dave Marsh really, really hated Queen. In a review of the band's fifth LP, A Day at the Races, published in the 2/24/77 issue, he described them this way: Two years later, Marsh wrote the most famous RS review of Queen... Even though RS has increased the number of stars on Queen's album -- Opera went from a 2 star album in 1983 to a 3-1/2 star album now, they still seem to have something against Queen. Here are a few highlights from the current RS Queen Biography... Current RS Queen album ratings --- 2/5 Queen 1973, 2-1/2/5 Queen II 1974, 3/5 Sheer Heart Attack 1974, 3-1/2/5 Opera 1975. And the current RS reviews from the 1976 on were mostly 2/5 stars and included criticism that they had abandoned their rock or the heavy metal roots. [The early reviews did not include stars and these were added later.] >> So they did not like them in the early 70's and they criticized them for evolving from that in the 80's. Most inexplicably to me, the latest, updated RS review of Opera did not even mention "Bohemian Rhapsody". ** On the other hand, RS does appreciate Adam. So they are not completely wrong about everything. And they are not anti-gay. An because this review cannot be read enough times!! Queen is not alone. Here are a few other gems from the 500 worst Rolling Stone reviews.... rateyourmusic.com/list/schmidtt/rolling_stones_500_worst_reviews_of_all_time__work_in_progress_/1/Here are a few of these bad reviews that struck me as .... In a special issue of the magazine published on December 11, 2003, RS unveiled its "500 Greatest Albums of All Time." Are You Experienced? was #15. Or perhaps this gem.... Imagine was #76 on RS's 2003 500 greatest albums list. And my "favorite" RS miss! Because they apparently really tried to stop the press and fix it when the early copies of this review generated Nevermind was #19 on RS's 2003 500 greatest albums list. This is one that Rolling Stone quickly changed to 4 stars online but I along with many other people own the paper review.
