Just my perspective, but their isint really any point of difference between his Wll performance on idol and his Ama performance. So i dont get the shock, or the backlash or even Genes comments re talking too much, i mean was i watching a different Adam Lambert on idol who sat their smiling, did what he was told, said stuff like "im Just happy to be here", which of course was met with "we dont want modest any more Adam". Hold on now my refresh my memory that wasent Al that was Kris Allen haha. Adam Lambert is the one who sat their smiling like the harmless person he is kinda like Ka conidentally . Difference is when he hit stage, he evolved from everday man to this supernova, incarnete makeup result of some unintentional lab experiment. And suddenlly your seeing outrageous vocals, spectactlor clothes, absoloute abandoment of societies rules and its conventions, putting anyone who dared to look up from their lazyboys into resistance. So Gene says Al needs to shut up, and focus on music, Wll lucky for you gene Al agrees haha.

I can not wrap my mind around any of part of this, to be honest. (Is it like a "Make a Wish" event?) No, not a Make A Wish. From what I have heard, just a very rich person paying Adam his fee for a private party performance. And since that event planner said it is a 1/2 million $$ party, I imagine Adam is getting paid well. It is a private sweet 16 party. And from the bits that I know about it, it sounds like it may be more than a $500K event. And I am sure Adam is getting well paid and will not have to work to far. And I honestly cannot imagine getting to have Adam perform for my birthday but I would be very pleased in my mom wanted to surprise me with a "small" event with AL performing!

I found this to be a very interesting piece about how the Billboard music charts might be manipulated. noisey.vice.com/blog/is-the-billboard-chart-broken-or-is-one-internet-troll-trying-to-sabotage-lady-gaga-dope-2014The article starts out with the GaGa tale which I have been sort of following or at least reading any articles I come across without seeking them out. I knew about the original rumor that $25MM was spent on GaGa's ArtPop promo and then the response that the piece originated on Examiner.com which is often questionable reporting. Then Bill Werde of Billboard actually countered by researching the reporter and posting an article on Tumblr. This article is the counter to that and discusses more than just GaGa, it raises interesting questions about the tactics used to determine song charting on the Billboard Hot 100. Since I know nothing, I just read to learn. I was especially impressed by the two statistical plots at the end of the article which are hard to counter since no opinion is involved. I don't know if there are any lessons here or not except that it can't be bad to have people in high places on your side, but hasn't that always been true.

Just a final...well perhaps not....comment on my quest to sell my Van QAL ticket. I followed the link posted here to showtimetickets as they operate in Canada while the others only sell to Canadians, but not sell for. I was having more difficulties that did not make sense so ultimately called the help number they had listed. Someone answered and explained the process, offering to put the ticket up on their site for me. He asked me a few questions and then instructed me to go to ticket master and transfer my ticket to him so that he could put it on the site for me!! He said he would then send me a confirmation/receipt that I could cancel at any time!
I was not prepared to simply transfer my ticket to a complete stranger...even though I did initiate the call....and he claimed that made sense so he would send me the receipt notice...or some sort of comforting legal form....and then I was to do the transfer. Well guess what....I never did get the email!!
Has anyone ever dealt with this outfit? Are they a scam? This was certainly fishy to me.....so back to square one. good grief....

Many people classify The Beatles as pop-rock or rock, pop. But almost everyone classifies Queen as a rock band. The Wikipedia entry for Queen, for example, list them as "Genres Rock". But did people call the Beatles pop-rock at the time they were active? It seems that there are a lot of rock performers that would be classified as pop using more modern tastes/standards. Is there any rock and roll act from the 1950s that sounds like how many people define rock now? I guess that gets back the to discussion we've had before on Atop about how one defines the rock sound. We could debate the difference between Rock and Pop genres for days or years and not resolve the difference. Not only can musicologists not agree on the definitions, the terms are used differently in the US and the UK. In addition, there is little to no rock influence in some genres that have he label "rock" in them -- like 1960's folk music which is usually labeled folk-rock. The Beatles were described as a rock band that evolved to a multi-genre band that did pop and rock music in expert reviews from the 1966-1969 period. The are also defined as one of the main progenitors of Pop music and of what we now call pop-rock. In the wide world of pop and rock music, there are numerous genres and subgenres and fusions. The Beatles create many songs in 3 genres....(there are others) 1. Rock - there is no question that The Beatles created rock music. And they created songs in many rock subgenres - rockabilly, folk rock, psychedelic rock, etc. "Helter Skelter" is hard rock or heavy metal (although the song was released in 1968 -- the same year that "heavy metal" really was defined as a genre. 2. Pop - There is one subgenre in the vague world of Pop music that is very clearly defined that describes many Beatles songs, "Power Pop" or "Pure Pop." This genre label was developed AFTER many of The Barles Pete Townshend of The Who coined the term "power pop" in a 1967 interview in which he said: "Power pop is what we play — what the Small Faces used to play, and the kind of pop The Beach Boys played in the days of 'Fun, Fun, Fun' which I preferred." The Beatles and The Byrds, along with The Who, The Small Faces and The Beach Boys, are often cited as the progenitors of power pop. Power Pop songs are short-to-medium length songs (<4 minutes), written in a basic verse-chorus structure with repeated choruses, melodic tunes with catchy hooks, using electric guitars, drums and bass for instrumentation, and created for a mass audience appeal. 3. Pop-Rock Ballads....a few examples: "Yesterday" "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" "Do You Want to Know a Secret" "For No One" "Michelle" "Nowhere Man" "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" "Across the Universe" ("Wildlife" version from a British various artists charity album titled No One's Gonna Change Our World) "All My Loving" "Hey Jude" "Something" (Harrison) "The Fool on the Hill" "Till There Was You" (Willson) "The Long and Winding Road" "Here Comes the Sun" (Harrison) "Blackbird" "And I Love Her" "She's Leaving Home" "Here, There and Everywhere" "Let It Be"
