I remember (vaguely) that we joked at one time about all going to the same retirement/rest home so we could stan together in our old age. Because Lord knows we will all be stanning this guy til the END....

Glad someone at Glee made the wise decision to veto the "Rock and Roll" costumes. They both look hideous, imo. OT---LOVE that Nirvana was inducted (and that Michael Stipe was involved) I'm wondering if the original idea was to slip into a a R&R dream sequence in the middle of the performance, then back again. Hence the costumes. But I agree - I liked it the way it was. The costumes were a bit OTT corny.

The weird thing about Simmons is that he did not get in to performing because of any interest in music at all. He was an SF and comic book geek who got in to music very specifically to get laid. That whole book about KISS reads like it should be titled "The Sexual Adventures of Gene Simmons". [snorts] Yep. Even as a kid KISS was all about the weird comic-book characters. I remember when we were still pretty little that my sister won some sort of KISS lunchbox/toy (?? not exactly sure what it was) as part of a big holiday Secret Santa sort of event. My parents looked at it in horror and immediately traded it for something else. I remember seeing Gene's long icky cartoon tongue and thinking "Ew.....gross...." But one of my babysitters loved KISS. Never got it, always thought Gene was super creepy.
