Glad someone at Glee made the wise decision to veto the "Rock and Roll" costumes. They both look hideous, imo. OT---LOVE that Nirvana was inducted (and that Michael Stipe was involved) I'm wondering if the original idea was to slip into a a R&R dream sequence in the middle of the performance, then back again. Hence the costumes. But I agree - I liked it the way it was. The costumes were a bit OTT corny. I think the intent was probably to be corny though. It is Glee, after all! Could be it was part of a storyline that got changed? Either way, I am sad we didn't see any of it! But that full length photo might get me over my temporary grief!

“That’s going to be a career killer. I think it’s going to be over before it’s begun and it’s unfortunate because the kid’s got the pipes. There’s no questions. He should really shut up. No one cares what you do behind closed doors anyway. And if you’re putting that front and center, you’re forcing us to deal with it and it’s going to be a turnoff for the masses.” Gene Simmons believes. Adam should focus exclusively on his music right now and forget everything else, Simmons says, because that’s what fans care about exclusively. Arguably, fans would beg to differ, as they’ve shown the American Idol runner-up their most sincere support for his decision to come out publicly."
I know this is going to be an unpopular comment on this board, but I have to say that Gene is right in this comment above. This is exactly what happened at the AMA's. I think Adam was okay until the AMA's and would have gone on to be the very successful pop artist that he wanted more than anything, but the AMA's happened and halted that momentum in it's tracks because he did exactly what Gene said above. He put the focus on him being gay. He put that front and center instead of focusing exclusively on his music and his voice and it was a turnoff for the masses just like Gene said. Also, I disagree with Fernandez saying it has helped Adam. I really don't understand why he thinks that. I live in the deep south and I guarantee you that there are a lot of people who want nothing to do with Adam just because he is gay. It doesn't matter how talented he is or how good looking his is. All they can see is the gay. Now granted, most people here in the south are religious too and see it as a sin, but that is also most of the country too since most of the country is religious is some way and follows the teaching of the bible. I do think Adam has gotten farther than most gay guys would since he is so ridiculously talented and good looking, but to say it has helped him to be an out gay artist is simply not true, IMHO. I do think the time is coming when coming out of the closet will seem stupid just like how stupid it looks now that we had separate bathrooms and drinking fountains for black people, but that time is still a ways away because the country has gone backwards in some ways with the christian fundamentalist push to fight evolution. I do see Adam has having found success against all odds, but he still hasn't achieved the pop star status that he wanted. That could change though because Adam doesn't seem to feel the need to put his sexuality front and center anymore. He has matured and become more grounded and is concentrating his efforts on putting his voice front and center like he did at the IHeart festival. That went a long way toward cementing Adam as a vocal powerhouse and articles are now referring to him as just that rather than the "openly gay artist". Also, the AMA's are now a fleeting memory for most people and Adam has a chance to start fresh with a new album and a new persona as the "best singer I know".

Here is a fact: Dr. May is a f*cking GENIUS! I am not sure he is appreciated enough... He should be doing guitar solo concerts! I am completely smitten! For me he is like an Itzhak Perlman+Isaac Stern+Gidon Kremer of electric guitar! IMO Adam is the luckiest singer of his generation to have the opportunity to work with Bri! ( Of course "the luck" and "the opportunity" are something Adam CREATED with his own genius vocals, creativity and artistry!) I can't even imagine how it feels for Adam to sing while Brian is on guitar...it sure makes him soar, and it seems this exhilarating feeling between Adam and Brian is mutual (as Brian mentioned in a few interviews). Just to think I am going to hear it all LIVE in a few months! WOW!
