This is not Adam’s first foray with green hair. He also Adam arrived at the 2011 VH1 Do Something Awards with green tips.
The current green hair is a much better look. The 2011 green tips look reminded me more of this guy…
Which of course is who inspired the most famous Adam Lambert green look!
Adam has not explained why he dyed his hair green. But it might be for Spring. People have been dying their hair green for years. Katy Perry dyed her hair green last week and stating that the change in color is in celebration of Spring. The idea of Green Hair is not new adn was made famous in the movie, The Boy with Green Hair (1948) which was an anti-war film.

“Follow the ZORB!” is all kinds of win for Adam!
4.14.14 by Q3
In the past couple of weeks, three TV commercials have debuted that have music related to Adam. All different.
Queen (North America) “We Are The Champions”
2015 Audi A3 TV Spot, 'Dues' featuring Ricky Gervais
Set to Queen's classic 'We are the Champions' Ricky Gervais, David Chang, Kristen Schaal all reflect on the hard times they've faced but ultimately rose above. It is running in the U.S. as a national and spot (local market) ad.
youtu.be/Qy6STCkkEOE
The music is an important part of the commercial but the campaign theme of the ad campaign is “uncompromised” – and WRTC is just used in one execution. According to a report in Ad Week, “Audi's "uncompromised" ad theme has two goals. First, to show wavering customers they're not compromising when they buy an entry level A3 instead of a more expensive Audi. Second, to communicate the luxury automaker itself did not compromise when designing and building the A3”.
It will most likely have little impact on Queen’s music sales or fame since awareness of this song is very high in the US and because the band is not shown or referenced. And the connection of the song to Queen to Adam is too weak to move the needle at all for Adam. But it is an excellent commercial. Hopefully it will sell Audi’s.
Adam Lambert “Shady”
2015 KIA Soul (South Korea)
This is my favorite TV commercial that uses music by or related to Adam – ever!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9dkzbc4BJQ
I cannot determine how this commercial will be used but it is great, the song is recognizable and featured in the spot. If this was a US national spot, it might be interesting. But even if it was released in the US, it is not likely to have much effect of sales of "Shady" or Trespassing since the track was released 2 years ago and was not released as a single. It might, however, increase awareness of Adam's music and make this particular track more recognized.
As a commercial, however, puppies + robot dog + Adam Lambert "Shady" >>>> Hampsters + Lady Gaga "Applause". JMHO YMMV . [Sorry for the bad pun! It was truly an accident!!]
AVICII “Lay Me Down” featuring Adam Lambert and Nile Rodgers*
Summer 2014: Lipton Iced Tea “Follow the ZORB” Taste the Brightside Campaign
* This is not the official way this song is credit but IMHO it is how this song should be credited.
There are a number of executions in this campaigns, different edits, different voiceovers in different languages, but the song and specifically Adam’s vocal is the unifying and most prominent element.

A major international ad campaign is very different than a single TV commercial. This kind of campaign involves multiple executions across different kinds of media, broadcast and digital exposures of the same message in repetition.
There is very little difference in the way a TV campaign delivers a message and the way a pop hit is made. Both use repetition with variation to build awareness and recall. Both work to build an emotional connection with the target audience, to make people aspire to be or feel a certain way. Both are designed to make people familiar with something and eventually to feel like they own what they are seeing and hearing.
When Lipton chose “Lay Me Down” for the Summer 2014 Iced Tea campaign, it was a big win for Avicii, Adam and Nile. And of the three, it may be biggest for Adam. Yes, it is a big deal for Avicii but he is already a major global star and the only unconquered part of the world is North America although he has made big inroads. Nile has already achieved massive fame with Chic, Madonna, Duran Duran, Bowie, Daft Punk/Pharrell, etc. etc. But for Adam this song could have a real, meaningful impact. The song is great. The production is well – Avicii – nothing more to say about that. The guitar is the unifying force that differentiates this track and gives it energy. But it is Adam’s vocal that is memorable.
We will see how it all plays out, but this is the kind of ad campaign song use that can help propel a song.
And, frankly, it does not matter how AVICII does credit, the vocal on this track is unmistakably Adam Lambert. No formal credit needed.
Trespassing is alive and well…and will last forever

I am excited about the prospects for A3. I believe that it is no understatement that many fans are waiting with great anticipation for Adam’s next album. This is a good thing.
But lately I notice people posting and Tweeting about Trespassing as if it was done and in a box. Almost as if it was dead.
The posts start off with things like, “Trespassing was….” I know it is not intended to be negative in any way, that it is an accidental phrase that is associated with the concept of the “end of the era” and start of a new era.
Trespassing is….
Let me repeat that: Trespassing is!!
Trespassing is an excellent album. It is an album that Adam is proud of. It contains songs and recordings that I love.
Trespassing is an album, a collection of music that will last forever, and it will be there waiting to be discovered by fans for decades to come. Yes, Trespassing is….
As fans, we can make two big contributions to Adam’s success:
1. We can provide and spread accurate information about Adam.
2. We can add a voice to the global conversation – a voice of support for what the music we love. And that love, when it is strong should last forever.
I do not believe there is a right way to be a fan – even an Adam fan. But this is not about being a fan – this is about love and I happen to love Trespassing.
So while I am certain that I too have fallen into the “Trespassing was” trap when I used the album name to mean a point in time. But I am committed to be more thoughtful and remember that music and art never die. They live on.
And Trespassing is and always will be a #1 album.

The 2014 "Part-of-the-World" Queen + Adam Lambert Tour Countdown!
4.14.14 by Q3
The countdown moves on and the start of this epic tour gets closer. Only 66 days to go! (only 10 weeks!)
#66 “Doing All Right” (written 1970, recorded 1971-1972, released 1973)
Written by Brian May and Tim Staffell while in Smile. (pre-Queen)
Released on Queen July 13, 1973
This is a song that Queen performed in the early years but that last performance was in 1977. The last time Queen performed “Doing All Right” was in Madison Square Garden on December 2, 1977.
This is a very unusual song and very complex. It changes many times throughout, shifting from light pop music to acoustic guitars and even contains a heavy metal section – Adam is one of the few lead singers who could sing a multigenre song like this and do it all with the sang “voice.”
I sincerely hope that Brian/Roger/Adam pull this one out of the catalog and brings it back to America! And performs it in the 1976-1977 arrangement.
Personnel
This is one of the few Queen songs to feature Brian on the piano. He also played his old Hairfred acoustic guitar on this track (also used on later tracks such as "White Queen (As It Began)" and "Jealousy".) The band played this song as early as 1970, and it the band's first song Mercury played live on the piano for. Staffell sang it when it was a Smile song, and Mercury tried to sing in the same manner when it became a Queen song.
Musicians:
Freddie Mercury - vocals
Brian May - acoustic & electric guitars, piano, backing vocals
John Deacon - bass guitar
Roger Taylor - drums, backing vocals
Produced by: Queen, Roy Thomas Baker, and John Anthony
Doing Alright (Langham Studio Version February 1973)
BBC Langham Studio version of Doing Alright recorded on February 5th 1973 at Langham 1 Studio in London. Broadcast on John Peel's show on February 15, 1973 on Radio 1.

“Doing All Right” (Lyrics)
These lyrics just remind me of Adam and I think he could relate to this song. I think he really is doing all right and does know what he is doing.
Yesterday my life was in ruin
Now today I know what I'm doing
Got a feeling I should be doing all right
Doing all right
Where will I be this time tomorrow?
Jumped in joy or sinking in sorrow
Anyway I should be doing all right
Doing all right
Should be waiting for the sun
Looking round to find the words to say
Should be waiting for the skies to clear
There ain't time in all the world
Should be waiting for the sun
And anyway I've got to hide away
Yesterday my life was in ruin
Now today God knows what I'm doing
Anyway I should be doing all right
Doing all right
Doing all right
