Thanks for the welcome, y'all. This seems like a really good group, and I have been looking for a spot where I could just, you know, love Adam and his glamness freely and without prejudice. :-)

Anyone still running Microsoft XP on a home computer should upgrade -- unrelated to the problem with IE, no browser is safe with XP. Two separate security issues. ** Cassie, you prob will include this, but can you put together instructions on how to move you IE bookmarks into Firefox and Chrome. Thanks! Oh, sweetie. Ask me about vocal technique. Ask me about major, minor or pentatonic scales. Ask me about music notation. But don't look to me for anything remotely related to computers. dancygeorgia is the computer guru.

lulu1265 ... Hi, I'm new to the board. I find this interesting also. I was out doing some "discovery" on Max Martin this week, since I don't know anything about him. A FAQ question on his website (http://maratone.se/faq) caught my attention: Welcome!! Glad you found us!!!

I am glad you changed your mind here, because I think that this is a good thing, and also hat it was to be expected, given that writing camp and who organized it. If you remember, I predicted that ages ago (long before Max Martin was ever in the picture).
Adam learned a lot from being EP and getting access to everything that goes with that, but ultimately it also was a disadvantage for him. He had nobody besides himself speaking on behalf of his album at RCA, which as we know was a company that had changed. And having a concept and direction that did not match the party line of the new troupe, and only a reasonable, but not stellar sales record based on album 1, it was just not enough. He was the young kid with not enough clout.
This unfortunately is all politics and has nothing to do with music, and if these bozos would have understood anything else but accounting, things may have gone differently, but the way things were, Adam was a bit too alone and inexperienced to weather that storm.
That does not make him at fault, in smoother times, all this would have been fine, but not in the harsh environment of 2011-2012 at RCA. Management teams can be brutal when they want to oust someone, and sending them on useless radio tours and not promoting the first single, sidelined him.
Probably a tough lesson in human nature in the business world for Adam, and again, says nothing about the music or the actual work that went into TSP.
So, Adam did as he said and gave up control, and this time he comes with the clout of MM. Nice. And clearly Nile Rodgers has his fingers somewhere in there, too.
Now there are just two major questions: a) what music came out of all this?
and b) will radio finally give Adam a chance?
Things are looking good, but of course there are never any guarantees, and nobody has heard the music either.

nica575 ... "How did I discover Adam?" I'll confess that I am a little embarrassed by my answer. Um, Glee? *blushes deeply* So ... I've known ABOUT Adam since he was on Idol. I don't watch much TV, but he got lots of press, and I knew who he was and followed him in the celebrity news, but I never really listened to his music. And then, I heard he was going to be on Glee, which I also don't really watch, but I love all kinds of music and do sometimes catch their performance vids on YouTube and usually really enjoy them. So, I decided to check him out a little more closely. And that's how I found "Trespassing." Ah ... It's the ringtone on my phone. I listened to that song on repeat for a solid two weeks. I bought the album. And then I bought FYE. And then I bought everything else that I could find that had Adam's voice on it. And then I REALLY hit YouTube, and watched AI and assorted interviews and GNT and WAG until my husband got seriously worried about me. LOL So ... yeah, I got hooked in a big way. :-) It's two things for me, really ... One is his voice. I have a soul-deep appreciation for someone who is not only truly, truly gifted, but also works to develop that gift in every possible way. Adam is not only one of the most talented vocalists that I've ever heard, but he clearly has not taken that talent for granted. He is so SKILLED, and I'm really in awe of what he is able to do. The second piece is his grit. He has had some real ... stuff ... thrown at him. And he fields every cut. He appears both incredibly confident, and at the same time, never arrogant. If there is something to learn from the experience, he appears to take that learning and use it to come out stronger as he just moves right along, doing what he intends to do. That takes a special kind of person, and I admire the heck out of the way he handles himself. He seems so real and so genuine, yet confident in his path. I love having the opportunity to support someone who is not only incredibly talented, but apparently a great human being. So ... that's my story. Glee. Who woulda thunk? LOL
