Adam Lambert Is Releasing A Greatest Hits Compilation In May
Well, I should clarify that technically Adam Lambert isn’t releasing the CD, his former label RCA is. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way let’s all get super excited about the fact that we’re gonna get to hold an Adam Lambert CD in our hands in May! Sure it’s not the new music he’s been working on with Swedish producer Max Martin, but it’s still something! Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way let’s all get super excited about the fact that we’re gonna get to hold an Adam Lambert CD in our hands in May! Sure it’s not the new music he’s been working on with Swedish producer Max Martin, but it’s still something! According to reports, RCA will release a best of CD on May 27 featuring music from Adam’s previous albums Trespassing and For Your Entertainment, plus songs from American Idol and even Glee. According to reports, RCA will release a best of CD on May 27 featuring music from Adam’s previous albums Trespassing and For Your Entertainment, plus songs from American Idol and even Glee. Basically no Lambert stone will be left unturned. I’m really obsessed with what’s written in the liner notes. “If some of these tracks feel like musical mission statements, it’s in their skillful fusion of mainstream pop and rock with left-of-center, if not underground, musician and pop-cultural markers, and their clear conviction towards that mission. And it that’s not the hallmark of an artist who’s unfailingly true to himself… well, you are invited to listen to some more until you get it.” I doubt Adam has anything to do with his album–he’s yet to Tweet anything about it–but I do think whoever wrote that knew exactly what they were talking about. Check out the official track listing below. Hopefully this will be an incentive for Adam to get his new music out there. Will you be picking up a copy of The Very Best of Adam Lambert when it hits shelves? Or are you not falling for the RCA money trap? Sound off in the comments below!

I just have to shake my head to this. What is wrong with some people? Katerina @jadelle1 22m Seriously?? Gosh... www.advocate.com/business/2014/04/29/ky-print-shop-guns-ok-gays-go-away …
Ky. Print Shop: Guns? OK. Gays? Go Away Herald Embroidery has posted a crossed-out rainbow flag on its storefront, signaling it will refuse service to customers who request 'content promoting homosexuality.'
The crossed-out out pride sticker is one of five circular graphics on the Herald Embroidery storefront, which have been created in the style of “no shoes, no shirt, no service” policies often seen on retail establishments. Another that also has a prohibitive red line through it is a graphic that reads “foul language.” Three other images are circled in green, signaling approval: a beard, a gun, and a Biblical verse.

I am so tired of these fundamentalist folks defining this completely absurd notion of what it means to be a Christian. Not to get preachy or anything, but Jesus was neither wearing a beard (as best we know), was certainly not carrying a gun, and reacted to gossip in town about why 12 men are living in close quarters together by utterly ignoring the nonsense. Never in all his years of running around the desert preaching about what gets you into heaven or hell, did he ever mention the subject of homosexuality. It was obviously not all that relevant to him or at least not related to any question of right and wrong. He did though preach at various instances about being judgmental, abusing certain rules of the Tora for your own purposes and agendas, and how important it is not be heartless. And while we today might wish that he had said something, just to get rid of clowns like this shirt guy here, the reality is, it is a fairly current thing to be putting the topic of homosexuality so much at the forefront of any ethics debate. Maybe the folks who deliver him his T-shirts, printing supplies, etc...stand up and don't want to supply them anymore. That would be helpful. Otherwise, things like this will just have to run its course. Hatred never wins in the long run. Grrrrrrrr......

Anyone still running Microsoft XP on a home computer should upgrade -- unrelated to the problem with IE, no browser is safe with XP. Two separate security issues. ** Cassie, you prob will include this, but can you put together instructions on how to move you IE bookmarks into Firefox and Chrome. Thanks! The problem is that some PCs running Windows XP are not compatible with any of the newer Windows operating systems and thus cannot be upgraded. The PC manufacturer should specify somewhere on their web site whether or not a particular model can be updated. I know that Dell has such information. So, what can you do if your Windows XP PC cannot be upgraded?1) Buy a new PC!!! Really the best option if you can afford it. 2) Install some flavor of the Linux operating system on the PC. Many Linux flavors now have very nice graphical user interfaces. FireFox is the default browser on most Linux installations. I recommend Ubuntu! And it is very easy version of Linux to install. The software that you bought for your Windows XP machine will not work on Linux, but there are a good number of free software packages on Linux that you pay big money for on Windows. There are also Windows versions for most of these free Linux software packages. 3) If you really have to keep using Windows XP, make sure you have a good highly recommended anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-adware software and a firewall software installed on the PC and keep them updated at all times! Set them up to check for updates automatically every day! And never use Internet Explorer again, switch to FireFox or Chrome. But note that you CANNOT uninstall IE from Windows - your operating system will become corrupt if you do!!! 4) Set your PC up with "Least User Privileges", a.k.a., "LUP". This is really important and something that most users do not know about. If you work in LUP mode, most viruses cannot be installed on your PC!!!!!! I will explain more in another post since this applies to all Windows operating systems. 5) Be very careful to not click on links in your email or on web sites that you do not fully trust!!!!!!!! This is the number 1 way that viruses get installed on your PC!!!!!!!! So, if you decide to get a new PC running a supported Windows operating system, how can you safely transfer you data over. This is what I would do.1) Make sure you have an updated anti-virus software on your Windows XP machine with updated virus definitions! Run the scanner on your entire PC. 2) Buy a new external USB drive. One as big or bigger than the size of your PC's hard drive will be fine. For a Windows XP machine, likely a 500 GB USB drive for about $50-$60 will be enough. 3) Plug in the USB drive to your PC and copy all of the files that you want to keep. 4) Run the anti-virus software again to check for viruses on the USB drive. 5) Make sure that you have an updated anti-virus software on your new Windows machine with updated virus definitions! Make sure that the new machine has been patched for this IE bug and any new bugs and that your anti-virus software has updated their virus definitions for this bug. Run the anti-virus on the entire USB drive. 6) Only then would I copy the files from your old Windows XP machine that you put on the USB drive to your new Windows (not XP) machine.

nica575 ... "How did I discover Adam?" I'll confess that I am a little embarrassed by my answer. Um, Glee? *blushes deeply* So ... I've known ABOUT Adam since he was on Idol. I don't watch much TV, but he got lots of press, and I knew who he was and followed him in the celebrity news, but I never really listened to his music. And then, I heard he was going to be on Glee, which I also don't really watch, but I love all kinds of music and do sometimes catch their performance vids on YouTube and usually really enjoy them. So, I decided to check him out a little more closely. And that's how I found "Trespassing." Ah ... It's the ringtone on my phone. I listened to that song on repeat for a solid two weeks. I bought the album. And then I bought FYE. And then I bought everything else that I could find that had Adam's voice on it. And then I REALLY hit YouTube, and watched AI and assorted interviews and GNT and WAG until my husband got seriously worried about me. LOL So ... yeah, I got hooked in a big way. :-) It's two things for me, really ... One is his voice. I have a soul-deep appreciation for someone who is not only truly, truly gifted, but also works to develop that gift in every possible way. Adam is not only one of the most talented vocalists that I've ever heard, but he clearly has not taken that talent for granted. He is so SKILLED, and I'm really in awe of what he is able to do. The second piece is his grit. He has had some real ... stuff ... thrown at him. And he fields every cut. He appears both incredibly confident, and at the same time, never arrogant. If there is something to learn from the experience, he appears to take that learning and use it to come out stronger as he just moves right along, doing what he intends to do. That takes a special kind of person, and I admire the heck out of the way he handles himself. He seems so real and so genuine, yet confident in his path. I love having the opportunity to support someone who is not only incredibly talented, but apparently a great human being. So ... that's my story. Glee. Who woulda thunk? LOL I love your story! One of the best yet!!

Ask me about vocal technique. Ask me about major, minor or pentatonic scales. Ask me about music notation. But don't look to me for anything remotely related to computers. dancygeorgia is the computer guru. Instructions for importing bookmarks from IE to other browsers are well documented on the other browser's support pages. Once you find Adam on Youtube it is too late to ever go back. LOL He is just unbelievably good. I am so jealous of those fortunate to see him at the Upright Cabaret before he was known outside of LA. Have you found "The Best Arts" Channel yet? It is made up of pre-idol Adam performances. The two demo reels are a good starter. They have links to the full performances. www.youtube.com/user/theBestArts/search?query=Adam+Lambertwww.thebestarts.com/AdamLambert/default.aspxA Must pre-idol is Adam doing "Crazy" at a charity benefit.

Great story, GGr!
Feel better soon, Q3!
I was headed for bed, kittykay, but after watching that video, I'm wide awake again. Didn't we see those red pants again at a concert? Can't remember which one.

lulu1265 ... Hi, I'm new to the board. I find this interesting also. I was out doing some "discovery" on Max Martin this week, since I don't know anything about him. A FAQ question on his website (http://maratone.se/faq) caught my attention: Q: I want to send you a demo music/lyrics.
A: Maratone does not operate as a record company, nor a publishing company. Maratone does not accept demo music/lyrics or artists without a record or publishing deal. Maratone works only for record companies.I think we have all been certain that Adam and his new label are just waiting out his non-compete agreement, but this seems to add weight to that assumption. Just a "HI!!" to the board ... I joined the fandom about a year ago, and have been looking for a spot to hang out. I appreciate that this board is so positive, as some of the other places I tried out are not. I have been lurking, and finally decided to join. I have tickets to Queen+AL in July ... I can't wait! It will be my first time to see Adam sing live, and we have floor tickets. My hubby and are both "mid-life" and therefore also big Queen fans, so this is a fantasy show for me. AND I can't wait for Adam's 3rd album to drop, so that I can actually see him perform his music with his band, because I'll be hovering over the keyboard for those tickets too! :-) Anyhow, hey y'all. I look forward to participating in some discussions. ... to Atop, GGr!
