The impression I get is that Chris is not a "live" performer. Not in theater, and definitely not as a singer. He does well in a recorded format. Hopefully Chris knows his strengths and weaknesses. A live musical probably is not his forte. One of his strengths is writing, I thought that was one of the best scripts in the past few years.

Very few in Glee can even lip synch authentically...if there is such a thing as authentic lip synching. Especially Chris ....the energy level as well, becomes to easy to compare when Adam and Chris are in the same scenes.

Here is the full Bryon Cook/Sam Smith interview. Pretty good. Adam is mentioned more than on the previous clip. LMD part starts at 11:45. Thanks for posting this. This is a really interesting interview. Well worth the time to listen to it. I had heard about Sam Smith a few times before, but did not spend any time checking him out. The sound bites I had heard then did not instantly resonate with me and so it got pushed to the side. But now, with this interview as a backdrop, I will go and check out his music. This interview also has very short soundbites, but clearly they are well chosen. And now I want to hear the whole song or even album. Why can't our radio DJs here in the US be like this? Really into the music they are presenting, AND knowing what to pick to begin with (or better having the freedom to make that choice, as compared to being told what to push). Again, thanks for posting.
