Finally a really good performance on Idol!! Jess knocked it out of the park!
I just do not get the Caleb love but he just assaults my ears.

The judges are trying to give her information to help her. And they are totally right! While her vocals are great, she is not picking songs that she can really embody with her personality to give a really great performance. I do understand what your saying and maybe you're right but I feel they are trying to change how she performs, trying to make her someone she's not. She has to stay true to herself and let the chips fall. Kind of like Alex who doesn't blow you out of the room when he performs but what he does is really good. He can't be Caleb nor should he be. Just letting the chips fall where they may is not going to help Jess get better or have a career in this field. The judges are not trying to make her someone else. They are trying to get her to be her! Both of Jess's first 2 songs are very extroverted personality type songs and Jess has a much more subdued introverted personality. WOW, Jess's 3rd song choice was just perfect for her personality and she really killed it!!! And the judges really praised her for it!!! |
