But they just let Jena off without any negative comments -- and she was off key. I swore off Idol, and I am not sure why I am watching again. BUT since Adam is doing NOTHING. If you want to comment about Idol tonight, I am making it an open topic!! I probably don't have the ear that you do, but I loved what Jena did with her last song tonight. Actually, I thought all 4 of them did their best on their 3rd songs of the night. I love Jessica's voice too but the judges are right...she needs to show some sign of life up there...I mean who sings Pink's na na na na na...na na na na na....and doesn't march about the stage...that stretch is begging for a strut....and she stood there...we hated the wgwg's but she is really just the female version just girl instead of guy...imho I agree the second song of Jena's was not her best...she did Bad Romance if I remember correctly....but she wasn't of key but she did not sing the melody in the high parts...she sang below it because she thought she sounded like she was 'yelling' when she sang the top notes...Harry asked her [or one of them] why she did that when she had the range to hit the notes...so while I agree they gave her a pass...she wasn't flat or off key like CJ was almost all the time, and Sam was often. She altered the melody on I Can't Help too but it was brilliant!!! I agree hers was the best of the night.... I just had a hard time enjoying Caleb tonight after that travesty of an interview last week....he just proved himself to be such a complete ashat that it is hard to even acknowledge his talent...and his last Beatles song was beautifully performed...his best yet, I think. I love Alex but I doubt he will beat out Caleb....I can hope tho... |

My favorite Idol performances tonight and my ranking were: 1) Caleb - loved all 3 performances, especially the 3rd! (Sorry Q3, I was too into the performance to hear the issues you heard.) 2) Jena - loved her 1st & 3rd performances, especially the 3rd which was the best of the entire night! 3) Jessica - loved her 3rd performance, really suited her! 4) Alex - his 3rd performance was his best, but I'm just not into his style. I rather like this judging panel. IMHO they are giving really good advice, most of the time (but not always). Even JLo has stepped up her game. And they get along really well. I like Caleb's YT videos from 2012 so I am not hating on him, but I am not impressed with his "showmanship" enough to overlook his vocal limitations. I recommend playing a YT and listening to him vs. watching him. I bet you hear it. His third song tonight was just not good -- he was under the song the whole time and half a tone off for part of the performance. I honestly do not care too much one way or the other this season about who wins Idol but I think that Jena should win if there is any justice but there may not be. I thought the first two performances were rocky for her but she made up for it with the final performance. I loved Jessica's performance of "You and I". *** Comparing this year's Top 4 show to other season's Top 4, it just does not hold up very well. I am enjoying The Voice a lot more this season. *** The best news from Idol is that they are keeping these judges for next season so we do not have to live through the Idol speculation. |

Today I spent a lot of time in the car and was actually delighted as I could listen for key words during the drive. At 1 pm the dj did come on and say that the key word would be given out at 5 pm. So, it seems that the stations are not conducting the contest in the way it was originally thought. At 5 pm I was not in the car. At 5:04 I was and anxiously turned the radio back on to see if they were running behind. Nope. Someone named Lorraine in the Nashville area texted in the keyword AND WON $1,000!! So, I don't know what that is all about. In any case, if Lorraine happens to be on this board, congrats!! Every station has different rules and time. They are posted online. The $1,000 winners get in the drawing for the ultimate prize. |
