Adam Lambert is at number 7 for our countdown from his days as a mentor, but this won’t be his only appearance! ok, need English comprehension genius here: option 1: Adam will have another spot on the countown, i.e. another GIF option 2: mentor appearance is not the only one and we will see him again on AI, which would mean finale I guess... HELP! My translation is they are trying to be ambiguous!! But I think we will see Adam on the Idol finale!

Guess I'll have to watch again this year if Adam does come on the show.

They usually do not say anything about the finale guest performers until on/after the Top 3 results which are Thursday. ETA I do not really think Clay is qualified to be in the US House, and in the unlikely event he is elected, he will not accomplish anything there. He will be in the minority party and have no important committee appointments. If he really was serious about wanting to help kids or focus on Education he would run for state office, or the local school board. I do not think he has bad motives in running for Congress but I watched him in a couple TV interview programs and he struck me as extraordinarily naive and lacking in any comprehension of the major issues facing this country. He has no policy team, no real campaign structure. Finally, Clay won because of a weird vote split in a 3-way race....The tally from the North Carolina Board of Elections showed Aiken with 11,678 votes, Crisco with 11,288, and Toni Morris, third with 5,616. He will need around 165,000 to beat Renee Ellmers -- and in that district, in 2014, I do not see how any Democrat can do that. Apparently Crisco had demanded a recount of the votes which is now not necessary as he died yesterday due to a fall in his home. No, Crisco did not demand a recount. He and his campaign manager said if the vote count was within the margin for a recount, which it was not after they finished counting the absentees yesterday, they would determine if they would call for a recount. In the final count, Clay won by enough to preclude a recount.

Thanks Q3. Do any Atopers who watch Idol have an idea who Adam would duet with and what they might sing if he is on the show?

Thank you for your even more astute report re Clay, Q3. But ultimately you are coming to the same conclusion, I guess. Not much substance. I was definitely hoping and expecting more.
As far as the congress is concerned, I agree that he will have no influence, but any seat not in GOP hands is one less, sorry. I realize that YMMV. And the real battle happens for the senate seats this time, not house seats. But still. Actually, 165K votes sounds doable, if this is what it will take. But I hope he gets his act together and employs the help he needs, and then sits down and does his homework. Tbh, what I saw earlier was not only empty, it was pretty embarrassing. And that is sadz. ========
RE AI-finale: It would be fun to see him with Caleb, and Caleb would have to stretch himself, to not make it too apparent who can REALLY sing rock. Song-wise: Meatloaf, Zeppelin, Aerosmith, GnR, something along those lines, too many choices to even start guessing. The only other possibility would be Jena, which would be more along the lines of last years duet situation, but I don't think so. Alex, definitely not. I really like what Alex does, but he is the total opposite from Adam, when it comes to his own artistic understanding and self-expression, which does not mean, that Alex does not get Adam - he does, and has said so, but it's a different world.

I can't believe it's time for the Idol finale. I don't watch anymore - since Adam's year actually - except when he is on, but the general buzz about Idol this year is almost non-existant. And I haven't heard anything at all about last year's winner. Is her first album out yet? I can't even remember her name. All I heard was that the Idol tour attendance was dismal. Hope Adam is on the finale again.
