Not sure what is driving this but there is a huge jump in the position of the "Best of" album on Amazon. Playlist: The Very Best of Adam Lambert (pre-order release date 5-27-2014) Album CD Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #558 in Music (See Top 100 in Music) Thursday, May 15, 2014 7:00 AM Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #24 in Music (See Top 100 in Music) Thursday, May 15, 2014 7:03 PM #12 in Music > Rock #23 in Music > Pop I got an email from Amazon today promoting the album. Maybe many other people got it too. That combined with the lowered price which I hadn't noticed would probably do it. Thanks melliemom for pointing out the price. I have the page scrolled up to the position listing and so didn't notice that the price had dropped that much. Since this is still presale that price drop will apply to all the presales so they must be really happy with the numbers. |

If Idol announces tonight who will sing with who then I speculate Adam will sing with Jena. I think they want another girl pop singer and especially one who "won" against boys who weren't..., well...., weren't last years boys. And I think that announcement would be geared to drawing in the Glambert votes, afterall we want our boy singing with the winner. If they announce who will be singing but not who with then it's a toss up. Especially if like last year he comes in and asks them what they want to sing. Adam might be their flexible option. See what artists can come and plug Adam in where they can't. I can see him doing one of the group versions too. Put the two Glee cast guest members doing similiar things. I do hope Ryan plugs the Queen tour, it was so weird not to have Adam on the 500th but we know Idol loves him and they both like surprises.
I like this scenario better, Adam to do a duet with Jena. Just let Caleb sings with Meat Loaf .. I mean he does look like Meat Loaf a bit.

I agree that there was a reason Adam called his two back-up singers "the Vajayjays" and not Ashley, but I do not agree that it was sexism, racism, or "size"-ism on Adam's part. Back-up singers have group names sometimes, "and the Supremes," "and the Rayettes," etc. I don't think band members often do. It was just Adam's bawdy joke on that, that's how I took it. As for "he was told to stop" - by whom? By his two singers? If that's true, I never heard it. OR by SOME fans? Because, if it's the latter, I mean, he doesn't have to, I mean he CAN'T actually listen to, everyone . . . it would be impossible because people have different opinions.

I figured out Queen! Next year is the 30th Anniversary of Rock in Rio. For the 30th Anniversary they are opening the mega Rock in Rio complex in Vegas with Rock in Rio USA. 30 years ago Queen headlined the first Rock in Rio. In 2015 Queen (+ Adam Lambert) will be returning to Rock in Rio. They will announce it next week. They will be on Idol finale to promote it. 2015????????????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! That is Adam's year!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO! It's just a few days and a huge event. It is the only thing that fits that I can find. |

Thanks for pointing this out, midwifes pal. I had not stopped to think about the distinction, but as you point out, Caleb's use of the term was doubly offensive. Now I really think he needs to issue a sincere apology. And hopefully truly understand why.

I was not a fan of Adam's nickname for the backup singers. It was somewhat offensive to me. However, I was very much a fan of how he talked about them being beautiful and ultra sexy. Those are adjectives that are rarely used when talking about plus-sized women. When we discuss maligned minorities that are teased, bullied or made the brunt of jokes, large women are at the top of that list. To many, they are fair game. Adam featuring them prominently was a huge statement for diversity and acceptance. Using a sexual nickname accentuated that. For that, I applaud him. |
