I actually feel sorry for Caleb! KISS worked for Adam because of the Glam. Caleb is NOT a Glam rocker. He has to be somewhat disappointed! Jena & Alex got their idols, Paramore and Jason Mraz! Caleb got KISS when he was hoping for Sound Garden or QAL! (puke)

KISS is touring this summer, right? They would agree to Idol as promo for their own upcoming stuff. But I agree it doesn't seem like a good fit for Caleb. Not that it matters to me. I just don't care for the guy: vocally, appearance wise, personality, nada. He is just not "star" material to me. But, hey, what do I know?

But that's a year away...do you think A3 will be delayed that long? Would it be delayed to take advantage of this?

I feel really bad for Caleb. They could have put him with any Southern Rock or Blue Rock band -- but that is not KISS.

Maybe he can do -- "I Was Made for Lovin' You" and "Rock and Roll All Nite". (KISS has to do RARAN.)

KISS does not have a ton of big popular hits and Adam already did "Beth", "Detroit Rock City" (a bit) and "Rock and Roll All Nite"

Caleb would never pick "Beth" and probably won't go there.

The two American Idol finalists counted down their last two hours Wednesday night with the rest of the Top 13, singing their way through an A-list of special guest appearances to find out who would be the Season 8 American Idol. And as he did in his performances on Tuesday evening, Adam Lambert proved again why he was in the final two. And who better to prove what a rocker he is than with arguably one of the greatest performing acts of all time -- KISS?

Adam Lambert stood at center stage and began the acapello intro to "Beth," unquestionably KISS' slowest and perhaps only nonsexist song with regard to women. Dressed all in black, dressed like a glam rocker, Adam had mesh wire constructs on his shoulders that were vaguely reminiscent of wings, sort of like a KISS costume starter kit. The vocals were far superior to those of Peter Criss, the KISS drummer who originally sang the song.

But then Adam Lambert introduced KISS to the audience and the stage exploded. The opening chords of "Detroit Rock City" began as an hydraulic lift dropped the band onto the stage where Adam joined them. Rhythm guitarist and lead singer Paul Stanley and Adam Lambert traded off lyrics, then the song transitioned into "Rock and Roll All Nite." On that audience favorite, bassist and sometimes lead singer Gene Simmons and Adam Lambert traded lyrics. The song ended with Adam belting his trademark scream.
