QAL cannot do 8-9 shows Down Under. The last NA concert is 7/28/14. Even if they fly right the next morning, it is 7/30 AU time, by the time, the plane lands. They are then badly jet lagged, have experienced a change from humid summer weather to dry winter weather and have been in the air for 20 hours or something like that (I am sure, someone will look it up and let me know that I am off, and that it is 23.763 hours). All their concert gear needs to make it there too, btw, but at least that does not have to take Ambien along the way. So, any concert before 8/1, probably more like 8/2 is not happening. And while Korea and Japan are closer than NA, they are also not exactly around the corner (11 hours to Seoul and 2-3 hours further to Tokyo). They would have to play 4 days in a row, 1-2 days off, another 4 days concerts, to get eight concerts in. It will be stressful in any case, but I sure hope they are not overdoing it. Ya, agree! Maybe 3-4 shows in OZ? |

Ok, hopefully I won't alienate everyone on thread this time! BUT did they tease an Adam appearance? So could it be that he is in the audience to plug his Q+AL appearance as per what I said (or tried to) in last night's late night screed? Remember when Demi Lovato did that and everyone was like wtf? Shosh said he wasn't performing, not that he wasn't appearing at all. I would prefer he didn't at all, but curious. Not crushed abt Q+AL not there, but I do have a couple concerts to attend this summer to cushion any blows anyway.  I had the same thought. They had Elliott and Danny there on the Top 3 show, with a mini-interview. Very possible. |

I don't this they will overdo it. They have no reason to. I think 8 - 9 is the absolute number possible. And 8 would not be easy. Maybe they do 2 concerts. Maybe they do one big show. Here is how I got to 8-9 max. Leave - Toronto 7/29/14 evening -- overnight one-stop flight to Melbourne or Sydney on 7/31/14 8:00 AM 7/31-8/1 off days 8/2-3 concerts 1, 2 8/4 off 8/5-6 concerts 3, 4 8/6 off 8/7-8 concerts 5, 6 8/9 off day 8/10-11 concerts 7, 8 8/12-13 off days, travel to Korea (can be one day for transit and that is #9) 8/14 Korea Supersonic 8/15 travel to Japan 8/16-17 Summer Sonic ETA: They are not likely to be flying on a commercial airline for this -- it is faster in a private jet -- and that means they can set their own timing. You sleep over the Pacific and the issue of jetlag is not so difficult -- particularly if you take some sleeping aid. You have them both in concert and on a day off on 8/6. Ha! Been a long week for me. |

I am so, so glad that Queen + Adam aren't doing the finale with Caleb. I know that I am a completely biased Adam fan, but I like that he's the only Idol contestant thus far to be graced by Queen's legendary presence. Adam, in my opinion, was a uniquely talented contestant, and Caleb, also completely in my own opinion, has some talent, but not uniquely so. Many Idol contestants came before Adam, but he was the first, and only thus far, to pique the interest of Queen. If Queen were to perform on Idol with Caleb now, to me it would be like saying that Caleb=Adam. I'm not saying that there are no other singers out there worthy of Queen's attention; on the contrary, I actually loved their collaboration with Nate Ruess, who, while maybe not technically perfect, has a really cool tone and vibe. I guess maybe it's just a stupid fan-girl jealousy thing on my part, but part of Adam's lore on Idol was that he was THE ONE great enough to attract the legendary Brian May and Roger Taylor. I don't want Adam's notoriety on Idol to be challenged by someone less than stellar, is all.

Teri63 I agree 100%. But I have no problem with Caleb getting to sing with KISS. Lol! I'm with you! Remember though, Adam (and Kris) sang with Queen as their singers for that Finale. There was no + Adam Lambert or other frontman. I think Caleb singing with Queen and Adam would be completely different than when Adam and Kris sang with them. IMO! |

Let me clarify -- I have no problem with Caleb singing with KISS as long as he does NOT sing "Beth"! I'm with you there, too, and I think he'd be foolish to even attempt that song after Adam, who not only sounded otherworldly, but literally glowed and sparkled. It would be damn difficult, if not impossible, to come close quality- and ambiance-wise to Adam's performance of that song. |
