There concert arenas in Sydney and Melbourne hold 21,000 (Allphones) and 15,000 (Rod Laver). Big acts routinely do multiple shows. The only events in August outside in stadiums are football games which happen every week making scheduling anything else very tough. The artist that holds record here in Melbourne for shows at Rod Laver is Pink who did 18 a few years ago! That's 250,000 tickets in a city of 4+ million. Yes we love concerts here and if wasn't for time of year don't doubt Queen could sellout a stadium date... George Michael sold out a stadium date here a couple of years ago... # carryon Seems like Allphone (Sydney) and Rod Laver (Melbourne) make sense -- and they are open on the right dates. Do you thinkthey will do more cities like Katy Perry and Gaga are doing OR will they do more that one date in Sydney and Melbourne? Or both? They have from around Aug 1 through Aug 12 -- so max 12 days. That could be up to 8 or 9 shows. And it could all be in Australia or AU + NZ, or maybe add in Singapore or Shanghai. Hard to say, depends on how much they want to travel while here. Australians are used to travelling to go see things - it is 4+ hours flight from Sydney to Perth and people come across the country for a regular season football match so am sure they wouldn't have a problem for a once in a lifetime chance to see band called Queen... :-)

QAL cannot do 8-9 shows Down Under.
The last NA concert is 7/28/14. Even if they fly right the next morning, it is 7/30 AU time, by the time, the plane lands. They are then badly jet lagged, have experienced a change from humid summer weather to dry winter weather and have been in the air for 20 hours or something like that (I am sure, someone will look it up and let me know that I am off, and that it is 23.763 hours).
All their concert gear needs to make it there too, btw, but at least that does not have to take Ambien along the way.
So, any concert before 8/1, probably more like 8/2 is not happening. And while Korea and Japan are closer than NA, they are also not exactly around the corner (11 hours to Seoul and 2-3 hours further to Tokyo). They would have to play 4 days in a row, 1-2 days off, another 4 days concerts, to get eight concerts in.
It will be stressful in any case, but I sure hope they are not overdoing it.

I am going to repeat this post. I am asking for help in accessing quotes of significant peeps raving about Adam's voice. I thought they were collected somewhere on Atop but I didn't find them. Does anyone have their own precious file with these kind of quotes. I know there were quite a few when the QAL tour was announced but I would love some diversity in time as well as the people berting. It is for a project I am working on. Thanks for any help. I replied but you must have missed it. It is in the Salon, under "People Talking about Adam". Here is the direct link: adamtopia.com/thread/669/saying-vocalsThanks so much. So sorry I missed your response. DH in the hospital and I am distracted.

Don't post often, but I am sad that Queen + Adam aren't going to be on Idol. It would have been such a major win for everyone, and so entertaining. KISS just doesn't fit for Caleb. I will never understand Idol at all.

I can now only watch the last 5 minutes of the Idol finale! Within 10 minutes of Shosh confirming no Adam, I got the magic email with Finale tickets! Oh well. Going anyway. It's a fun show! Oh, have fun!! It should be a great show even with no Adam!

I don't this they will overdo it. They have no reason to. I think 8 - 9 is the absolute number possible. And 8 would not be easy. Maybe they do 2 concerts. Maybe they do one big show. Here is how I got to 8-9 max. Leave - Toronto 7/29/14 evening -- overnight one-stop flight to Melbourne or Sydney on 7/31/14 8:00 AM 7/31-8/1 off days 8/2-3 concerts 1, 2 8/4 off 8/5-6 concerts 3, 4 8/7 off 8/8-9 concerts 5, 6 8/10 off day 8/11-12 concerts 7, 8 8/13 off day, travel to Korea 8/14 Korea Supersonic 8/15 travel to Japan 8/16-17 Summer Sonic ETA: They are not likely to be flying on a commercial airline for this -- it is faster in a private jet -- and that means they can set their own timing. You sleep over the Pacific and the issue of jetlag is not so difficult -- particularly if you take some sleeping aid. ETA 2: I fixed the days.

Ok, hopefully I won't alienate everyone on thread this time! BUT did they tease an Adam appearance? So could it be that he is in the audience to plug his Q+AL appearance as per what I said (or tried to) in last night's late night screed? Remember when Demi Lovato did that and everyone was like wtf? Shosh said he wasn't performing, not that he wasn't appearing at all. I would prefer he didn't at all, but curious. Not crushed abt Q+AL not there, but I do have a couple concerts to attend this summer to cushion any blows anyway.
