TALON'S TAKE: SUPPLEMENTAL Gimme The Prize (Kurgan's Theme)A return to hard rock form for the band, this was written as the theme of the Highlander bad guy, Kurgan. Ok - this shows you can learn something every day. I probably have watched the original Highlander movie over a dozen times and didn't realize that Kurgan had an official song or theme! That guy gave me such nightmares as a kid. That lovely little desciption of him growing up in a tribe where they tossed children into pits full of starved dogs for amusement always gave me the shivers. Still probably my go-to mental image of a psychopath. Off to listen to orges!

Pearls of wisdom from Boy George! Boy George @boygeorge 10m
The music industry. Old people telling young people what to buy while telling other old people they are too old to be relevant? Funny!Oh snap! :D

A very quiet morning - Since absolutely nothing is going on this morning perhaps a few of you would appreciate something else to listen to/watch? OT except that this group came into prominence due to appearing on a reality show singing competition on The Voice Off this past season (altho' they have been performing for 13+ years before becoming an "overnight" sensation). Other connections to Adam? The cute high tenor worked singing on cruise ships like Adam did. The group is creative and does different takes on familiar songs. They have good voices and they don't need studio magic. Heck, they don't even need any backing musicians. They are an a cappella group. This is a video of their Christmas concert last December. I start it at a clever parody of some banal pop songs that were very popular. After that, there is an incredible "drum solo" by their beat boxer. It sounds impossible for one person to make all that sound. After that is their version of Ring of Fire, which they sang on Voice Off. These guys are entertaining, fun, and great performers.

Since it's slow right now I'll post something that may have been posted earlier. I saw it go by on my twitter feed & loved it: "Beyonce vs Freddie Mercury: Just Sayin'"cheezburger.com/6414013696

[looks up]
And so many people wonder why so much of recent music isn't lyrically relevant. <eyeroll>

HSM - Agreed on the Kurgan! I love the actor too!
As for the above, I've seen it before but I chuckle each time I see it...

Oh boy - Adam thinks we're slacking..... But, kidding aside, he clearly wants us to pay a bit more attention to this: ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert 4m My tweet about the heat got more attention than this important petition. C'mon....There are Human Lives at stake. wh.gov/l7Y8RIt's a tragedy, that while our progress and our efforts on behalf of the LGBT community have lead to progress in so many places, some of them previously very anti, and now slowly starting to turn around (boy scouts, various churches, etc.), yet, at the same time, those that totally don't get it, are feeling so threatened that they are clamping down even more brutally and are creating a nightmare for those caught up in it. Not sure that more pressure on this country will help. But, I do think that the US should offer asylum to anybody in the lgbt community who is fleeing from places, where their lives are threatened. The radicalization of those who feel threatened, is a terrible thing. It's the same thing we are observing with education of females around the world. The more we are succeeding with that, the more, those that absolutely want to prevent it, are using more and more radical sharia laws and brutal violence to enforce their old-fashioned ideas. Sudan, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Myanmar.....too many to name, and yes, Brunei. The first party suffering under Sharia law (which is not one uniform law, but implemented in local variations), are women. And that part seems to be consistent, wherever it is implemented, independent of local version. It is about time, people start informing themselves and helping on the end that they feel is the right one to start at. It's what Adam is doing and so should we, each where we see fit.

Playlist has dropped to #38 on Amazon -- it was up to #21 yesterday. The movement of this album is a bit odd. BUt nice to see it so high. Oh boy - Adam thinks we're slacking..... j/k But, kidding aside, he clearly wants us to pay a bit more attention to this: ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert 4m My tweet about the heat got more attention than this important petition. C'mon....There are Human Lives at stake. wh.gov/l7Y8RThe petition count is growing now -- but still only 823 -- it needs 99,177 more

So BBC Radio 1 played LMD at around 4.40 this afternoon on their dance anthems show. Unfortunately it was the Avicii chipmunk remix............ The DJ mentioned 'the vocals of Grammy nominated Adam Lambert' afterwards. So disappointed - I do hope they play the real one as well. If they're only going to play this dismal remix I will be furious. :(
