Rumours Queen may travel to Australia
Friday 16 May 2014 7:28p.m.
Speculation is rife that Queen might be heading to Australia after the glam rockers gave a tantalising hint on Twitter.
The Queen official account tweeted on Thursday: For the first time in 30 years, Queen are heading back to...... [stay tuned]"
Queen last toured Down Under almost 30 years ago in April, 1985 and haven't played in the country since.
However, it's also 30 years since they played in South Africa (1984), and Brazil (1985), where the World Cup will be held in June.
The Australian offices of Universal Music, the band's label, said they were in the dark about the potential tour Down Under and were seeking clarification after the social media leak.
Since the death of lead singer Freddie Mercury in 1991, the remaining members have performed with various frontmen including Paul Rodgers (lead singer with Free) and Adam Lambert (runner-up on American Idol).
Queen have also performed with English vocalist Jessie J and used a remastered video clip of Freddie Mercury while performing at the closing ceremony at London's Olympic stadium.
The band will do a 24-date tour of America later this year with Lambert on vocals. In August they will play dates in Seoul and Tokyo, edging them closer to the southern hemisphere.

The 2014 "Part-of-the-World" Queen + Adam Lambert Tour Countdown!
5.17.14 by Q3
The countdown moves on and the start of this epic tour gets closer. Only 33 days to go!
#33 “Ogre Battle” (1974)/”Sweet Lady” (1975)
I put this two song together because Queen performed them back-to-back in concert in 1976 and it was very effective live.

“Ogre Battle”
Written by Freddie Mercury.
Released on Queen II March 8, 1974.
Freddie composed this song in 1972, but Queen put off recording the song for their debut album because they wanted more studio freedom to perfect the song which, because of their debut album's hectic recording schedule, they didn't have.
The song is considered to be one of Queen's heaviest with its loud heavy metal guitar riff composed by Freddie on guitar but played by Brian on the recording, the song also contains thrash metal-like drumming performed by Roger. The song opens with the song's ending gong, except the gong is played in reverse to create a building wave sound; this opening eventually evolves into the songs signature guitar riff. Freddie performs "Ogre like" screams and Brian performs sound effects with his guitar in an attempt to recreate the sounds of a large battle. Roger performs the high harmonies at the end of the chorus hook.
The song was a longtime live favorite, although in this case, it was played more slowly than in the studio. Queen played it at almost every concert until around 1978.
A different version of "Ogre Battle" exists, recorded in December 1973 for the BBC Radio 1 "Sound of the 70s" program. This version starts right away with its riff (without any long intro), does not have any effects that the version on "Queen II" has and sounds much less polished. The BBC version of "Ogre Battle" did originally have a long intro featuring a grand guitar build up; it was not used for this release, allegedly because the original tape was damaged.

“Sweet Lady” (1975)
Written by Brian May.
Released on Night at the Opera November 21, 1975.
This song is an unusual rock style in 3/4 meter (which gives way to 4/4 at the bridge). Roder remembers it as the most difficult drumming part he ever recorded. The guitar line later evolved into the fast version of "We Will Rock You".
The backing track was probably recorded live -- you can hear the snare wires on the snare drum of Taylor's kit vibrating along with Deacon's bass guitar riff.
