peacemix - sorry our experiences were so different with the petition. ALso ordered the calendar and had a hard time with the fansite. Are you going to the Vancouver Q-AL show?

The White House website was not easy but not as hard as trying to purchase a calendar from the fan club. It took several attempts plus a call to Ground Central. Should be easy and available to everyone, not just members. I thought it would be in the "store" and once there was amazed at the limited choice of old tired stuff. Come on Adam, we want to buy dimmers and a house to put them in! HAHA...you are so right! The hardest thing about the fan club site is trying to remember/keep up with the current password as it seems to need changing every time you enter it.....never seen anything like it.... |

I'm thinking a lot about the folks near the fires in San Diego--mostly because my parents and sister are on their way to that area for the annual week at Lawrence Welk Resort near Escondido. I called my parents yesterday to ask them if they were still going, and my mom said that they were. I hope everyone down there is safe! Fires in Southern California can move really fast, especially when the Santa Ana winds are blowing. By the way, the fires are not far from the San Diego Wild Animal Park, which is part of the Zoological Society which also runs the San Diego zoo. It is a huge place which is really lovely to visit, and I remember that once before when there were fires they were on the verge of having to evacuate the animals. This would have been really difficult as many of them roam free. I hope that doesn't happen this time.
Here's my relevance to Adam--my parents lived in North County in San Diego near Poway for 11 years--basically just across the freeway from where Adam grew up. Whenever I would visit we would literally drive by Mt. Carmel high school to get to the shopping plaza with a number of stores we went to! I always imagine that we actually saw him when he was younger at a restaurant or something...could have happened!

Well, Adam. At least the link to the petition made me more curious about US relations with Brunei. Turns out it is a very interesting one. Seems like they mean more to the US than we might mean to them. The sultan has some pretty deep pockets and has shared some of his wealth with prominent Americans. I don't know what real power or influence the US administration would have with this regime. Now my twitter feed is making more sense with the spam regarding boycotting the Beverly Hills Hotel. The sultan owns that property along with Hotel Bel-Air in L.A.
I am not saying citizens should not express outrage regarding this.
