Nice! Remember Roy, the 'Japanese Freddie' imitator, who went to QueenAL concerts in 2012? Looks like he's going to Summer Sonic. He's wearing an Adam Lambert Trespassing T-shirt with his Freddie yellow jacket! Aww! lol, evergreen. And he proves that he has room in every direction. Room Up, down, projection, available air, dynamics, lyrical interpretation, runs, whatever he does, it is clear he is not maxing out. And he does that of course, in front of an audience, that gets that, and knows how much others are challenged singing this. Of course, it is important to know, what the environment was, in which Adam sang that song, to understand the OTT levels he is taking it to. This is very situation specific. Adam would totally adapt, and in a solemn situation, sing the anthem totally differently. But that is also part of the flexibility he has, that he has such vocal variation within him, and the sense to know when to do what. Wish he had an occasion somewhere to do a festive or solemn version, so we would get that comparison. We have not really gotten that yet from him, we had snippets from the Spielberg performance, then we had the military base, with a rather rowdy audience and without warm-ups or any other preparation and then we have the two OTT versions (this one, and the bleating sheep one). None of which are quite ideal to demonstrate how wonderfully Adam could interpret the song, if only he were invited to do it. Maybe at the end of the evening with QAL they'll perform God Save the Queen and the SSB.
