The average ticket price is too high but the audience size is too small -- so it will sort of work out. The concert gross will be based on the ticket prices, excluding fees....here is San Jose: US $145.00(US $126.50 + US $18.50 fees) US $98.25(US $82.00 + US $16.25 fees) US $66.25(US $52.00 + US $14.25 fees) US $49.00(US $38.00 + US $11.00 fees) The average is somewhere around $75. (Canada and Australia have slightly higher priced tickets, but not as much when converted to US$. Some concerts are higher priced like metro NY.) Concert revenue will be around $40-$50 million. But I do not think they are done adding shows. Note: I am using the Pollstar ticket revenue rules... ** The artists also get a percentage of the VIP Ticket sales -- which is sizable -- and a percentage of concessions and merchandise. Adam will have a very good year this year -- because of Queen and because he also got an album advance this year. In addition, he is probably getting $0.02 for every copy of TRUE and LMD sold.

Audio CD (September 19, 2006) Original Release Date: 2006 Number of Discs: 1 Label: RCA ASIN: B000HA4AAO Also that is Clay's RCA Christmas album. There is an American Idol album over Adam's shoulder that is from RCA. (10th Anniversary CD) The Annie Lennox album is her Christmas album from Island/Decca (UMG label).

.... I think maybe one of the reasons Adam has not gotten the full mainstream attention I think he deserves is because he just plain outsings everyone else. If I had a song, I would NOT want Adam to cover it. He just owns whatever he sings, IMO. Everyone has their own taste, of course. I happen to prefer belters, and people who make me feel things when they sing. Pop like Katy Perry is fun, and can even be socially relevant, but it doesn't move me like Adam's voice does. Broken Open? That song slays me every time. Slays me. Another one who does that to me is Nina Simone. And Judy Garland. They feel every syllable of what they are singing, IMO, and they take me right along with them. Jewel, in her earliest work. Tracy Chapman. Joni Mitchell. Otis Redding. I'm sure there are more I am leaving out, and I'm sure you all have your favorites. But Adam? Well Adam simply captured my heart. And soul. For me, there is no one who can match him. I tried really hard to listen to Adam Levine with an open mind, and found myself completely unmoved. Maybe he is a great singer, but he doesn't give me feels like Adam does. Adam is, for me, simply the best. Broken Open - the most memorable from FYE for me as well! The most beautiful and the deepest in both music and lyrics... It has Adam's soul in it... "But Adam? Well Adam simply captured my heart. And soul. For me, there is no one who can match him." - just wanted to repeat this.... Q3, thank you for posting the "Exploring age-specific preferences in listening article"! musicmachinery.com/2014/02/13/age-specific-listening/ For me the following comment is especially interesting, it talks about something I've been trying to understand - the imprinting: I've been trying to understand my own extreme outliner taste, where Adam is literally the first non-classical artist who broke my complete lack of retention for any type of music but classical. I grew up surrounded mainly by classical music, but I did have a great social teenage and 20s life, with parties, dancing, hang outs, clubbing, etc... But NONE of THAT music "stuck" with me, I had zero interest in who wrote it, or who performed... WHY? I have no idea, the only explanation is I got imprinted very early...but then WHY and HOW did Adam "break in"? My kids on the other hand are a complete opposite. Despite classical saturation with some input on the classic rock side (from their father) at home, their tastes formed elsewhere - my DD is a huge EDM fan (minus Avicii) and my DS loves rap...so, they "escaped" the early imprinting and their preferences are still forming - well, I hope it will evolve still (cause can you imagine listening to rap your whole life j/k) Psychology is definitely a fascinating field...

On tickets prices! Has anyone seen a ticket for $49.50? And the entire floor in almost every venue is over $200 And the front half of every floor is definitely over $200. Don't think my average is that far off! And there were very few of the lowest price. Cheapest I found at Forum were $97 and there were only a few rows of a few sections.

To me, the differences between Adam's SBB and Caleb's are primarily that Adam has a better tone and his singing is effortless, even on a challenging song like this. When Caleb was about to go for the high note, I feared he wouldn't reach it or his voice would break in the middle of it. I never have that fear with Adam. His voice just pours out of his throat and fills the room. Poor Caleb can never dream to have that kind of range and control, but then, who can? As Roger Taylor said, Adam's voice is one in a billion. THIS! Adam always reaches even the highest notes effortlessly - it's a joy listening to him singing. I've never heard such a singer before. ETA: A couple of days ago craazy wrote that singers with a broad range have more options when singing a rangy song. They are not stuck in just one key. Our boy sings the SSB in the last clip in the key of of C. Bottom note a C3. Top note a G4. The usual 1.5 or so octaves. In the middle clip, he sings it a full step higher. Bottom note D3. Top note tho', he adds the flourish and runs all the way up to a D5, for two full octaves. The Broadway clip is just ridiculous showing off as only a singer of Adam's quality can do. Tho' he skips the beginning with the lowest notes (not because he can't sing them, but for time), he starts the song at the very top of a great tenor's range: A4, Bb4 up to C5 in the first five notes. Then, just cuz the boy can and it's Broadway and it's his peers, he belts up to a full-voiced F5. (Leaving other classically trained tenors green with envy) And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how it is done when you are Adam Fuckin' Lambert.AWWWW! Cassie, I LOVE your post (and the last line!!!)
