Oh, Lilly we need Cassie or one of our other vocal experts for opera. I will stick to pop, rock and other fun stuff. I like some opera -- Italian yes, Wagner not so much, Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung) is like torture to me! But I am so far from an aficionado I do not think I can comment. But I have a question for anyone from the UK: Why do so many people sing opera pieces on reality TV shows there? Did someone become famous doing it and start a trend? Joe McElderry (UK XFactor winner (2009) performed at Pittsburgh Pride before Adam and he did Nessun Dorma which was OK but really not appropriate for a street festival concert. He seemed very nice and enthusiastic -- but not too memorable beyond being a nice looking young man. [He also won Popstar to Operastar in 2011, a UK Realty TV show. Strange concept.] bgt winner paul potts started this - not so good but katherine is HUGE here and russel watson ,these vocalists sell major in the uk Yes, but this did not all start with Charlotte Church? The same playbook has been played since then, with so many child stars and also on tons of reality stars, all singing Pie Jesu and Oh mio babbino caro, Nessum Dorma, etc. But somehow I think, she was the first, before they even had all these reality TV singing shows. They had some other talent shows in those days (1997): Charlotte Church became famous because her aunt tried to sing some pop song on that talent show, and Charlotte introduced her, and during that introduction stole the show. Here is the aunt doing her part (sound stops after a few seconds, but given that it is irrelevant, it does not matter. A few seconds are enough to get the idea). No need to listen further. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLdHUCFq-kMThen here is Charlotte Church introducing her aunt: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhY07WXK8j0

Interesting how much press is covering Adam, even more so than Brian and Roger. Does anyone think they are laying groundwork to delay the album release - 'put on hold' -- or just that Adam is now focused on this for several mos. if recording was done, I suppose others could finish production. Just curious. reading too much into written interview.

So my husband texted me today saying "Adam Lambert was just on 89.9". That's our local radio station. Like any good fan, I immediately assumed he meant an interview, and I tweeted about it in excitement. Only to discover he meant an Adam song was playing. Sheesh. But...they were playing LMD! As part of an hour long mix they always do at rush hour. So good news! If not quite as exciting as I originally thought.
