In Lead Up to Tour, Queen Announces Plans for New Album Featuring Freddie Mercury
In the coming months, Queen will be giving fans the experience of both old and new. Guitarist Brian May announced the band is working on an album featuring uncovered vocal tracks of Freddie Mercury, which will be slated to be out at the end of the year. As May told BBC Radio in a recent interview, the album will likely be called Queen Forever, which will be a compilation album that will feature the unreleased Mercury vocals. This news comes as the band is getting ready to kick off a two-month North American tour in June with Adam Lambert. According to TiqIQ, Queen with Adam Lambert tickets have an average price of $209.69 on the secondary market across all tour dates. The first date comes on June 19 at the United Center in Chicago with an average price of $202.09, 3.6% below the tour average. The tour will end July 28 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto with an average price of $188.46, 10.1% below the tour average. Between those dates, the band will play 22 other concerts in some of the most popular venues in North America. The two most expensive shows both come at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas. Queen and Lambert will play back-to-back nights with the second night having the higher secondary market average. The July 5 concert has an average price of $507.70 and the following night has an average price of $542.61, for a combined 150.22% premium above the tour average. The next most expensive show comes July 17 at New York’s Madison Square Garden where the average price is $325.93, 55.4% above the tour average. Lambert and Queen first played together while Lambert was still a contestant on American Idol in 2009 during the season finale of the show. Since that time, Lambert has provided vocals for the band at various shows and festivals, but this will be their first full tour together. As Queen has popped up on occasion over the years, 2014 could see a big resurgence for the band. Queen Forever will be their first studio album featuring Mercury on vocals since 1995’s Made In Heaven, an album released four years after his death. In addition to the tour and album, May also hinted at a sequel to the popular musical “We Will Rock You,” which is set to close its West End run on May 31 after 12 years. The musical, based on Queen songs, is the longest running show at London’s Dominion Theatre, one of the largest venues in the West End. The musical had a 14-month run from September 2004 to November 2005 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino and is currently on its first US tour with brief stops in seven cities until August 24. We Will Rock You tickets currently have an average price of $113.02 on the secondary market. |

Not sure why they didn’t just keep it simple and go for the full $3 mil, but whatever – it’s a lot of cash! The 3,800-square foot mansion has only three bedrooms and four bathrooms, but features a wine room, a “diner-style booth/breakfast room”, a screening room, a gym, a giant courtyard, and a grotto in the backyard. The former American Idol runner-up should be able to afford the home easily, especially after all the money he stands to rake in on Queen’s tour of North America, Australia, and Asia. He should also fit in quite nicely with two of his new neighbors, who you might have heard of… Katy Perry Katy bought two adjacent houses in Hollywood Hills West a year ago for a combined $11 million and nearly 7,000 square feet of space. The new Mr. Kim Kardashian actually put his home up for sale back in September, but it hasn’t sold yet. He’s only looking for about $2.95 million, which he brought down from $3.3 million. How thoughtful of him! Other celebrities who have lived in and around Hollywood Hills West include Ashton Kutcher, Matthew Perry, Ryan Phillippe, Jesse Metcalfe, and Tyler Perry.

The dimmers joke never gets old ... it reminds me of modesty, levels of success - hell definitions of success - .... for me it is a reminder that Adams happyness always comes first, no matter what "we" Glamberts think about it ... And I don't stick my hapyness to the European tour rumour bc I saw them all at Hammersmith ...... but I've put away funds ...js .... |
