Talon, My interpretation of "EARLY Queen albums" is Queen, Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack. The three albums that predate A Night at the Opera. I don't expect them to be too crazy with the setlist and my guess is Brian is referring to "Killer Queen". *** From today's opening post! Here are the songs from the early albums that they performed a lot on tour -- I bolded what I think are the most likely. Queen: Son And Daughter, Keep Yourself Alive, Liar. Plus not released but played on tour "Hangman". Early tour cover and my dream of Adam covering Elvis! "Jailhouse Rock". Not happening but I am from Tupelo! Queen II: Father to Son, Ogre Battle, White Queen, Seven Seas of Rhye, The March of the Black Queen, Sheer Heart Attack: Now I'm Here, Stone Cold Crazy, Flick Of The Wrist, In The Lap Of The Gods, Killer Queen, Bring Back That Leroy Brown I marked it as I did since QPL seems to mar my that way....when they did the 2011 remasters and Deep Cuts Compilations they did it according to 3 eras. Early, Mid, and Late. Early was the first 5 albums. So I figure Brian might be using QPL terminology. I think KQ is as definite as it can be without confirmation He could be -- but QAL already included the most important songs from the 4th and 5th albums. The gap is the material form 1971-1974. A Night at the Opera they have done the two US single hits -- YMBF and BoRhap You're My Best Friend (last London show) '39 Love Of My Life Bohemian Rhapsody Maybe they could add "The Prophet's Song" A Day at the Races - they do the two single -- which is what the mostly did for the original tour. Can't see much that would make sense to add.... Tie Your Mother Down Somebody To Love I think they will add "Teo Torriate (Let Us Cling Together)" in Japan. *** My bet is "Killer Queen" and "Flick of the Wrist" make the setlist -- the Double A single hit from Sheer Heart Attack. There will be a lot of happy people in the audience if some of the songs from the great early 1970's Queen concerts return..."Liar", "White Queen", "Hangman" etc.

Do not give up yet. The problem is that WMU and ATY are still in the "way" there. WMU is #8!! on the New Zealand chart: www.muzic.net.nz/charts/1/official-new-zealand-top-40-singles [mostly on airplay]. ATY #23 on the New Zealand Top 40 sales chart right now. Just like in the US and Canada -- no room for more Avicii yet. I guess there is still a chance LMD will be picked up. but that link you posted Q3 is a December 2013 chart! WMU peaked here months ago, You Make Me didn't really take off here. Hey Brother & ATY both still getting regular airplay.

I was thinking about Catz since the Australian part of the tour was announced. Has anyone talked with her lately? I caught some of her tweets, I know got tickets to OZ shows, not sure which ones and she is doing some in the States too. Yes Catz is going to Oz - to both Melbourne shows with our large (20+) group from NZ!

Brian's meanings of words are usually a bit more tamer than what fans start buying into. I could definitely see Liar, In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited, and White Queen. Hangman I SERIOUSLY doubt. Now I wouldn't mind, but I don't see it. I think it may be telling that he chose to reply to a tweet that asked for Liar specifically so we'll have to see... For ANATO - Also I'm In Love With My Car (depending on what Rog wants) but they could add Prophet's and they could add Death On Two Legs For ADATR - You are right not much here that would be added - maybe Long Away in the Brian section.

I will go fix my original post -- but I rechecked and ATY is still in the way. I think that there is still a chance that IF the release LMD in the US and Canada, it gets pushed in NZ.

I take that message as EARLY = KQ which we know they will do. It is their first US hit. It is the best known song they have not done and they have pretty much promised it. I agree it will not be radical. Brian is more likely to pick something a bit risky vs. Roger. But Roger has done IILWMC in solo concerts. Pretty sure they will not do DOTL -- but if they do, I hope Adam does not sing that one.

At least more recently...Brian talks big about risk, etc. but from sources, one of the (minor) tensions that grew between Paul & Brian was that Paul (and Roger reportedly) wanted to branch out a bit more while Brian wanted to stick to the old warhorses. ANd in 2008, they opened with One Vision, phased it out quickly then searched for another opener. THey tried opening with a Cosmos Rocks track (Surf's Up...School's Out) which was daring (and actually worked tbh) but soon enough Brian decided it had to be a warhorse like Hammer To Fall which as much as I like the track...didn't work as well. I don't really *think* they'll do DOTL but if they do, I do think it would be with Adam.

I am 99% sure that will not go near DOTL but I really do not want Adam singing that song. *** I think my use of the word "risk" was not exactly what I intended. Brian is more likely to do what I would love, pick some of the early Queen concert favorites -- the songs that were great live when they were big in the US -- songs they preformed here form 1974-1976 and then dropped. These are mostly songs that Brian and Freddie wrote. Pretty clear there will be no new music on this tour -- it will be Queen music. I think that Brian and Adam understand this is what they should do. You are right, Roger would be the most likely to push for something post Freddie or even an Adam cover, but I think that with not happen. There are two wild cards: 1. They could do one of the new/old tracks from the new/old Queen album. I think this is a real possibility. 2. Adam. Adam is a risk-taker and he is very likely to pick a track or two from the catalog that was not a single and do it. Like "Dragon Attack". I do not underestimate the influence Adam has on the setlist. And he is the one who opened and themed his own headline tour (GNT) around a bonus track.

Ok I get what you are saying...and I agree Brian might be more inclined to pick an early Queen concert favorite -- it was his idea to resurrect In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited for the Magic Tour for example.
As for the wild cards -
1. I don't think they'd do one of the new/old tracks if only it would be weird for them to "debut" a new Freddie song by having Adam sing it ? Now if B&R had a new song they wrote to fill out the album (I doubt), THAT could be debuted.
2. That is definitely true. How deep is his knowledge of the back catalogue. That will determine how effective he would be at doing older tracks. I mean Adam definitely was a fan and honored Freddie, but I got the feeling he's not like say...me....and knows everything. I know he discovered Dragon Attack before the first round and wanted to do it...so how much research has he done now...SO it is a wild card in the truest form...a. how much does he really know...and then b. how much would he push...
He definitely will have a good say on the set list.
