I hope you're right! If they end the tour in the UK, I could make it. I don't think they're going to retire, just that they'll probably be busy with their own projects, which are more low key, and not with Adam. There are more and more hints that the new Queen album will be released this year, so this tour will probably promote that to some extent? There will be a new Queen album. They committed to it and announced it in December 2013. This tour will be used to promote that album but I honestly think that Brian and Roger are touring because they want to. That is not just promo BS but real. What's not to love -- nice, big venues. Mostly sold out tour. Working with the best singer in the world. It really can't get much better than this! |

I heard Lay Me Down for the first time on @bigfm. It was soooo good to have @adamlambert on my German radio again. They introduced it as new hot track. Said Adam was runner up on AI but more known than the winner and has teamed up with Avicii for that song \o/ I'm so happy now

I am guessing that Brian and Roger are more than happy for Adam to be the "frontman" in more ways than one for the upcoming tour. They basically want to play the music they love and interact with their audiences one more time. They probably have no interest in promotion, interviews, endless repeated questions, etc. They are in it for the love of performing their music. So, let Adam do the bulk of the PR interviews which can get boring and repetitive very quickly. He is still a fresh face, and he hasn't been in the public limelight for 40 plus years. Let the kid do it. Adam loves talking to people. Adam, to be honest, DOES like to be the center of attention when it comes to being a singer and performer. Whether Adam is thrilled to be doing every duplicate radio interview and answering the same questions about what it is like to be be on stage with the legendary Queen, he is an accomplished actor who knows his lines very well.Plus in the back of his mind he is probably telling himself 1)this gig is gonna pay for my NEW HOUSE, 2)this gig is gonna get me lots of coverage in advance of my next album, and 3) this gig is gonna earn me a lot of credibility as a pop/rock superstar. I love hearing Adam talk and laugh almost as much as hearing him sing, so I am glad it is working out this way. Plus, though I love Brian and Roger, they are not great in front of the press. Adam is the best front man in that area as well. |
