Don't know why Ringo Starr is #1 on that list. But he's on tour with his All Starr Band this summer. The band consists of his good friends and watching them in concert is FUN FUN FUN. I'll see Queen in Chicago on 6/19 and Ringo on 6/22 in Durham, NC. Terrific music weekend coming up! I agree -- he is great live. As is Sir Paul! (Although Paul's voice is not so good anymore!) I managed to see 3 of 4 Beatles live but never saw my favorite live -- John Lennon -- and never saw them perform as a band. I did see George and Ringo together at The Concert for Bangladesh (2nd show). And I did get to see Paul for the Wings Over America Tour. Which was awesome. But on my big "wish I had seen them live list" are: Elvis (in 1956), Jim Morrison and The Doors (in LA at the Whiskey A Go Go), the Beatles (anywhere) and Jimi Hendrix. If they invented a time machine, I would do concert time tourism!!

I know when the QAL US tour was first announced there was much anticipation for promotional TV interviews. Not too much of that has materialized. Do we think it's too early? Do we expect any TV appearances to promote this? And yes, I know many venues are close to sold out but some are not - notably the 2 NJ ones and I think Philly is still not near to selling out. Maybe I'm wrong - I hope so. But my point is will there be any TV appearances prior or during the tour? Whaddya think? I do not anticipate much more than has happened. They did the big MSG Press Event and Adam did some follow-up interviews mostly for radio. They there was a second round of interviews for Australia -- and once again Adam really did the lion's share of that. One the tour starts, there may be some local TV coverage and there will be reviews but mostly print and online reviews. ** I am not sure who expected TV interviews but this is not like promoting a new album with TV performances. ** Regarding the remaining tickets in North America. Philly appears to be pretty deeply sold -- no interactive map but I called and got a bit of info. No amount of TV interviews or promotion will do anything to help the two odd concerts (Atlantic City and Saskatoon). IZOD would be sold out if the tickets were not priced so high. If reviews are really good it will sell out, if meh reviews, it will not. And if it is not sold out, they will do some promotions. I would expect local radio and print coverage for most of the concerts. As to who expected TV coverage, we get excited and speculate. Isn't that how it usually goes? LOL I wanted to believe it too of course as it seems it will be Queen's final tour. Maybe and maybe not though. Boy it's hard to type a decent response on an ipad.

Oh I see -- I did not expect much and have been surprised how much press interest this tour has generated. I did not expect much TV coverage. >> Adam could get more TV coverage with a yellow suit and orange hair. The nice part of this is that he is getting coverage as a great singer. >> I always loved that little moment in iHR Music Festival when Nate Ruess introduced Adam as the "best singer I know". >> For me, 1 press report about Ad is a great singers >>>>>> 10 E! News reports about green hair. And yes, there should be some coverage but mostly on classic rock and oldies stations.

Yeah...and Elvis in his young, sexy hips rolling/legs gyrating era! And I would have to see James Brown and Jackie Wilson live! Of course there would be lots more artists I'd take my time machine to see! ETA: I would have added Bob Dylan to my time machine concert list but I got to see him during my college (folk singers) music era!lol

If they invented a time machine, I would do concert time tourism!! I saw the Beatles on their first big US tour...1964?...in the Boston Garden. We were in the last row of the second balcony at the opposite end of the arena, and they looked like ants! The one good thing about those seats was that all the screaming was in front of us and the music was bouncing off the ceiling behind us, so we could actually hear them. The tickets probably were about $4. I still have a stub somewhere. I also saw the Stones in a smallish theater in Worcester in I think late 1965, and saw them twice in 196, and again in 1989. Unfortunately I've only seen Adam once, at Puyallup during the GNT, and prospects aren't good for me to see him anytime soon unless hubby has a change of heart about my "obsession." Oh well, thank goodness for YouTube. anyhow, seeing the Beatles as fab . The Stones were my heroes though!

Yeah...and Elvis in his young, sexy hips rolling/legs gyrating era! And I would have to see James Brown and Jackie Wilson live! Of course there would be lots more artists I'd take my time machine to see! Three of those are not on my list because I saw them live. Rolling Stones 1972 - many, many of the US concerts. I do not recall how many. I had a connection to one of the US promoters. Oddly, I only went to see them one more time after that tour. My love for the Stones faded in the early 70's. Not sure I want to see Mick at 70 on tour. I preferred Mick in the 70's. Bowie - Ziggy Stardust Tour 1972 - I worked for that tour's US leg. Coolest job ever! I think I have seen every Bowie tour. My favorite Bowie Tour and concert was the Serious Moonlight Tour, August 11, 1983 Tacoma Dome. The Tubes opened for him, and the venue has serious acoustics -- the world's largest wood domed arena -- and since it was the only concert I ever saw there I do not know if it is the building or was that Bowie was perfect that night! (I lived in Seattle then and Seattlites only go to Tacoma when there is no other option!! ) James Brown - I saw him when he was old but he could still sing and move!! Must have been 1979 or so. Amazing performer. Jackie Wilson - I saw him many years ago maybe 1971 in Philadelphia in a club called the Showboat. But of everyone on your list, I believe that I saw Queen (with Freddie) the most. It was not a plan, just sort of happened. I feel very lucky that I lived through the 70's and early 80's when concerts were affordable. I have splurged on this QAL Tour but I keep passing on concerts because the tickets are too expensive. There are very few artists I am willing to pay > $100 a ticket to see. ETA: I saw Bob Dylan a couple of times -- he was OK. But I want to add The Band and the Allman Brothers to my list.
