I know I am far from objective when it comes to Adam's voice. And before I continue, please understand I have the utmost respect for Freddie as the quintessential frontman. With those caveats, I just had to share that during my initial viewing of the TV preview I had briefly looked away during part of Freddie singing Bo Rhap. They switched to Adam singing the next phrase on the iHeart performance, and my ears immediately perked up to the difference in richness of tone even before my brain clicked that it had to be Adam singing and I looked back at the computer screen. Freddie's tone at that point in the song is more metallic and piercing. Adam's is fuller and rounder, with more of the lower harmonics in the tone. It may be one of the reasons people think Freddie sounds more authentic rock, more raw, while Adam more music theater. Which you prefer is personal. The difference is very noticeable. At least to me. It is really funny and a case of differen't strokes for different folks.... I had the exact opposite reaction. I thought the difference was that it was *LESS* rich. I had Freddie's voice that pierces so crystally through me and then all of a sudden it was switched to a very nice but a voice that doesn't quite cut through the bombast of B,R,& J. It comes close and is very pleasing to the ear...but not quite it. BUT that's why I'm the Queen fan here who enjoys Adam while for the most part you are the Adam fans who enjoys Freddie :D And that is why I can't pick! I'll take them both! One of the most wonderful things is that there is finally someone that Brian and Roger seem to love to work with who can sing the later period songs that never were performed live AND can give fans a chance to see this incredible catalog of music performed properly.

Maybe it applies more to the overtones and colors and therefore a certain fullness for Adam's but that should not matter. There is not a better than at all. I think it is down the physical and emotional response we have at a given moment to a given rendition. I love how I am reading about everyone's responses listening to these two giants. It so depends on the song, where my body and emotions are when I am listening etc. etc. One seems utterly perfect to me and I really respond at one time, and then the other at another time. And then there are varied performances of the same song. How lucky are we that Queen's legacy and reach over time even allows us to have these kind of discussions between two unbelievable singers? So it is just win win listening to these two and being moved

Thank you Talon and Q3 for all the info and videos about Queen. I've become such a fan of Queen that I am reading a bio of the band. I hear the differences in Freddie and Adam's singing and there is no doubt in my mind that Freddie was undeniably a great frontman. I just think Adam is a great frontman for them NOW. Bringing these beautiful tunes for a new generation of people to savor. And how lucky Bri & Roger must feel to have this incredible singer doing it. Freddie had a much harder rock voice. It's very different than Adam's. I don't think one is better. Apples and oranges.
Frankly I love both of them.

If "Freddie Vs. Adam Day" came but once a year I could face it with good cheer From each man's wheelhouse on that day We'd drag out all the good things hid away Pile them to the skies from dusk til morn And feast on fruits and nuts and corn Plenty for all and more to spare Without a worry or a care We'd be light of heart that whole day long Singing the Freddie vs. Adam Song

Oh, the blood gif is great! Love the similar reaction of Brian and Adam, so in tune, LOL. Oh yeah! I'm laughing hard at this. Totally hilarious. What a great way to wake up. I had a great night last night. Went to a crazy gathering here in Austin called Queer Bomb, sort of an antithesis to Gay Pride with the concept being if you do not present as a "normal" gay person (ie, trans, the leather crowd, name your weirdness here....) Queer Bomb is the place to let your freak flag fly. And it was, it really was!!

it was ingrained in me as a child not to ask how much did you pay for that, how much money do you have, how many cattle do you run. So why is it I'm going slightly mad because I have no idea how much Adam gets paid by AT&T, not even a ball park figure. ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert Win a trip to my private event! Share ur #ATTLiveProud meme! Rules/details: att.com/liveproud sponsored by @att pic.twitter.com/6fCmWLwtE3 I can give you a big ballpark - my guess is $500,000 to $1 million -- might be a bit higher because Adam is very selective and he is the most prominent gay musician in the US and because his personal brand is a very good fit for this campaign. Since this is year 3 and the campaign has grown in importance within AT&T, seems both are happy with the arrangement. It is an excellent brand for Adam to be associated and Adam is an excellent personality for AT&T Live Proud to be associated with. This is the kind of relationship that is great for an artist to have. FYI -- The big TV campaigns (when they include the US or Japan) -- like Jerry Seinfeld and Tina Fey + AMEX -- are worth $10+ million. Getting a song featured in a TV major ad campaign is worth at least $1 million. A lot more for a hit and/or an exclusive like Fiat did with "Happy". The biggest payments are for a big song by a big star both appearing in a campaign -- these are rare.
