I'm not even reading any of the comments anywhere about Adam's tweet - I knew (and he must have known) that he was going to catch all kinds of s%*t for making anti-gun statements. But I think the people who will hate him for that would never have liked him anyway. But those people are absolutely nuts. ETA: the student loan filibuster - I hope people pay attention. His tweets of support were ten times the haters! The majority of Americans are in favor of strict gun laws. It's just that the NRA & their supporters are louder! And right now, Washington D.C. is full of gutless wonders! The GOP is determined to have Obama go down in history as ineffective! When in actuality, it is things like their student loan filibuster among other tactics at the root of the problem!

I am probably certifiable. I've taken the Mama design and had a rhinestone pattern created for the whole thing. What a learning curve but I loved the touches of rhinestones I put on the transfer so much. here it is. That's impressive! I really like this result - the hard work paid off. I'll say!! You must post a pic, once it is completed. I envy your patience and creativity granduchess. Been busy painting in my niece's fixer-upper little home, for a week and half, so feeling much like Talon. Taking a break today, as cleaners are coming in. Working through a reno with family doing the work is a feat in itself. ha-ha (Don't they say, if a marriage can survive a reno it can survive anything!!..hey, there is merit to that phrase). I said to my niece...I may be good at many things but house painting may not be one of them. So.... Best wishes as you continue painting, linking into internet, and setting up your "new" home Talon! (I emphasize) Q3 and Talon, MANY, MANY thanks for the Queen insights, which have taken hours, upon hours to investigate, to lay out for posting. I really knew little about Queen until Adam....and now I am quite intrigued by the band members, the history and the music. Very exciting to see the vision for the staging! With a budget for clothing, we may not see recycled clothes this time around. His big chance to break the bank and wear clothing of choice to support that massive lighting and stage set-up. I would like to see some color and white on Adam to pick up the color nuances flashed by the massive light system...which by the way gives that stage flooring an amazing effect. IT IS GETTING SO CLOSE NOW! (Congrats to those who are lucky enough to get tickets to the preview...a posted review is mandatory!! )

www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2014/06/12/britney-spears-manager-course-lip-syncs/?intcmp=featuresBrief article on Britney lip-syncing. How is it related to Adam? The show we will see this summer is TOTALLY LIVE, with no backing tracks, no lip-syncing, no back up singers filling in for stars who cannot sing, no mics with auto-tune, and, I am thinking no Las Vegas style dance troupes to cover the fact that the star cannot dance any longer either. What audiences will see this summer is definitely spectacle of the grandest sort, but also real, old-fashioned, authentic, talented, LIVE performance at its very best. In the pop music world today, that is very rare. The new pop stars can't do it. The legacy rock acts are at an age where their lead singers, by and large, cannot sing like they did in the height of their fame. Many folks want to see these acts regardless, because they love the artists or celebrities, and because the shows are highly entertaining and/or nostalgic. Nothing wrong with that. Queen, tho', has the legacy, the long-time experience, the skill set, and the catalog of great songs, plus a young, highly trained, one in a billion voiced frontman who can make the music fully alive and of stellar quality. It is gonna be jaw-dropping! I totally agree that Adam is a jaw dropping vocalist and this tour will be awesome. But I think you have overstated it a bit.... > Queen + Adam Lambert will not be all live vocals no matter what Adam said -- unless there are two radical changes: 1. Bohemian Rhapsody is rearranged for a full live performance. 2. There is no Freddie Video/Audio part of the concert. I would not bet $1 on all live singing. > The vast majority of artists who are touring North America in arenas do not use backing tapes or lipsync concert performance. The exceptions are all urban/hip hop and pop vocalists. The challenge for these artists -- Madonna to Rhianna to Britney to Gaga -- 1. no one can do the choreo they do and sing their music, and 2. some of this music is created in studio and cannot be replicated live. Even Adam uses backing tracks when he performs live for many of his pop songs. Finally, Queen is not a pop act, they are a classic rock act and there is not a major rock act with any credibility making major use of pre-recorded audio. When Muse performs, Matt Bellamy sings. When the Stones are performing, Mick Jagger sings. I can't think of a major rock act that lipsyncs lead vocals. Not anyone I have seen in concert.

The stage set up is amazing. So glad I am going to Chicago because it will be the only concert that I will have a full on view of the stage. I just know the staging is going to be over the top spectacular. My seat in Vancouver is in section 119 (right on the side and a few rows up). Based on the layout, it will be almost a straight side on view of the stage. It is also the opposite side from Brian. The view of what is being projected or displayed on the stage set may not be that great. Not sure what the stage set up will be in Vegas. Have never been to “The Joint” at the Hard Rock so don’t know how much the stage will accommodate. I am now thinking about trying to squeeze in another show. Wonder if my budget can take it????

Of course they will have recorded clips of Freddie and for Bo Rhap. To me, they do so for a different reason than pop acts do. You are also correct that Mick Jagger IS singing. Paul McCartney IS singing. Those are two "legacy" examples, however, where they make extensive use of other (live) voices to fill in the sound and sing melody lines and notes that Mick and Paul are having difficulty singing strongly (or at all) these days. It would be very remarkable if, at 72 years old, those guys still COULD sing as strongly as 40 years ago. Perhaps it is just me. I prize hearing musicians and singers without "enhancements." While I strongly defend the right of performers to continue performing even when they are not 25 years old and in perfect shape, I, despite being a life-long fan of Sir Paul, am not interested in hearing/seeing him in concert these days, for example. I am probably a snob about live performance. Sorry. ( And, yes, I would much prefer to see Adam sans backing tracks, too. If he cannot recreate the studio sound live due to a lack of $$ for backing musicians and singers, I would prefer he rearrange the song to fit what he CAN create live. I would prefer just keyboards and his voice to lots of backing tracks.)IMO, YMMV, etc.
