If anyone finds themselves offended by Queen purists' comments over the course of this tour, step back and think- what if GOD FORBID (knocked wood three times) something tragic ended Adam's life or career and two decades later some young, hot gay man with the voice of an angel sang "Whataya Want From Me" on a talent show and took the country by storm. Would you accept him with open arms or would you silently cry to heaven and protest his excellence in some sort of misguided hope of keeping Adam's legacy alive? I would think we'd see the other side of the coin in that instance. Adam's got this and Brian and Roger have his back. As with all things, there is room at the top for multiple examples of excellence and it's OK for some folks to have a different opinion. It doesn't sully Adam or his legacy in the least. It's the whole Ghandi thing "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."
I love your post.
Excited about tomorrow and hopefully someone will stream it. I probably will scream and then faint if it turns up that Adam do a duet with Freddie singing Love Kills or Love of My Life.

Every review I've seen has been very positive but ironically there are a few Adam fans on twitter who are a bit more critical of his iHeart performance. Especially Love Kills. These fans (admittedly just a few) feel he is trying to imitate Freddie and should tone it down. Everyone has a right to his/her opinion but I admit this floored me today after all the flailing during the stream.

Adam is his usual candid self, taking questions and speaking from the heart. video We’re just a day away from the start of the Adam/Queen tour, and on Monday night, they offered a preview of the tour with a concert in Burbank, California for iHeartRadio. Here’s a gallery of great pics. more...

Thank you, Talon, so much for all your input. I was wondering if the "not Freddie" comparisons were made with the other singers who sang with Queen?

At what point will the tour hit the buses? Do you think they're riding them to Chicago? The band & principals? Hell, no! betting they flew LA to Chicago! Probably buses after Chicago. Then a flight from Vancouver to San Jose. Maybe buses San Jose to LA & Vegas or maybe not. The flight time is so short. Probably buses for the NE US part of the tour. Faster to drive than fly!

And if people think he was imitating Freddie during that particular song, it means they have never heard the Freddie version and don't know what the hell they are talking about! You may reply to them & quote me on that!

Thanks again for listening to my points Talon, do you think the announced release of the Rainbow will take the pressure off in a sense that the Queen fans are FINALLY getting the "old" stuff and not just "silly" collaborations? It is my understanding there is/was a feeling in some core fan circles that B&R are/were "distracted from working on the archives", but now the Rainbow is a realityand a new album is the works... Do you see any change in attitude towards B&R? Well it's tough. It does distract them now. NOW they have something new to discuss, focus on, get excited about so now if they aren't interested in QAL they have another avenue to go down. SO in a way yes. On the other hand, the feeling is that B&R were dragged into releasing this and are more thankful to those who have finally talked them into it LOL. BUT yes, I think you'll find that the QAL threads have softened as those who aren't just trolling are more in the Rainbow '74 thread.... Thank you, Talon, so much for all your input. I was wondering if the "not Freddie" comparisons were made with the other singers who sang with Queen? Yes and no. a. The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert (and to a degree many other one-offs) - These were one-offs. So it was more a mass "We miss Freddie" b. Paul Rodgers - Again a yes and no. Paul was SO different from Freddie - he was on the opposite side of the spectrum so it was more difficult to compare. BUT yes there was definitely the He's no Freddie with Paul. Adam is much closer in the area of a Freddie that it does invite more direct comparisons. Good question . . If the new singer tried to be a copycat , then , no , I wouldn't accept him. But if he was an avid fan of Adam's , and just wants to keep the legacy alive , and does the songs justice , then yes , why not ? Ahhhhhhh....but you wouldn't say....Such and such is no Adam but he does a pretty good job I mean I've heard that a few times in here regarding other songs
