I think from a purist point of view B and R would be the most preferred option. But everyone's different, and that's great it bring's different perspective and experiences to the forefront. It has truly shocked me how much negativity and resistance the Adam collaboration has garnered among long-time Queen fans. I don't know who qualifies as a "purist," but having deeply loved Queen since I was a little kid (truly was fanatical about them and they will forever be my favorite band of all time), I instantly saw Adam as being perfect for Queen, just as Brian & Roger did. It's really surprised me how many Queen fans don't agree. Brian & Roger doing a few of their signature songs in a Queen concert is one (very enjoyable) thing, but to have the real Queen experience, a charismatic & vocally gifted frontman is needed, which Adam fits like no other. I have a feeling they are not real Queen fans, most of them misspell Freddie as Freddy haha I mean face palm. But look at Idol when Adam lost a lot of that was people feeling out of control, they were told Adam is king and you must obey haha, so they thought stuff this I Want to feel like I am actually part of the process, hey Kris even though you suck (lets be honest here), I Think you deserve it because I said so . People in general are stubborn you could say, and close minded. They prefer to live in ignorant bliss, things that are reliable and constant are a lot more safer. So someone comes along who questions everything they knew, bam comments like Ahh he is repulsive, crap, can't sing e.t.c. It is a defense mechanism. Real Queen fans who have actually gone to concerts and open their minds to this collab have realized while no Adam Levine (just thought I would switch things up form the usual no Freddie haha) he is it for this generation. I mean look at those other covers of Queens catalogue really great, Queen have had 11 lead singers since Freddie's death in 1991 what was it. I would dare say this collab has resembled the "old" Queen more then the other's. Not many possess the power and consistency to sing this huge catalogue, a lot of other stars who have done it have done it for special events, Adam has toured over hours of music, and nailed all of them. I mean his style and vocal application is vastly different from Freddie, he uses more head voice then chest voice in Bohemian that Freddie used. But as equally good, I choose to see this as Freddie was the best, and Adam is the best since.

Interesting that QAL can sell out big NA tour and sell well even in Australia, but in England they only performed at Hammersmith. Looks to me that there isn't many Queen fans anymore. So why care what they think about Adam?

I had to log-in to say the following. I have heard from a reliable source that many people are coming to Saddledome in Calgary to see mostly Adam. Apparently, he had made tons of casual fans during idol because he hasn't been played here since the WWFM era. Would Queen play a two-hour show with a random (to me) guy in Calgary, or Edmonton, or Winnipeg, or even Saskatoon? I highly doubt it. I am almost unconscious from the anticipation of my two "glam rock spectacles" this week and after playing non-stop videos since Thursday so please excuse my a bit rude intrusion. Cheers!
I think what most people (especially Queen fans) don't realize that this tour's playing in the countries where Adam Lambert's also popular. Yes, Queen's popular in these countries but Adam also has made his name in Canada, Korea, Japan and Australia.

My prediction is that by the end of the tour there will be very few active "critics" left, and that pool will mostly consist of people who did not attend any of the concerts. So far I have not seen one negative review from an actual attendee - even on QOL. Some didn't like the couch (too campy and/or obstructed the view of Brian) or some other moment, but overall the reaction was very positive. Give it another 9 weeks and the few negative voices will get silenced as well. On the Rolling Stone article, I did see a comment from someone who attended that didn't like it. She said it was okay at first but Adam's voice became grating. She was there for Roger and Brian, whom she liked of course. That's the only negative review I've seen from an attendee. Lots of haters on that article. Almost as if they are grasping at straws to find something wrong with him. Some were even calling him fat! oh, the QOL moved onto the "too gay" in addition to "too fat"....with the sprinkle of "environmentally harmful tour"... honestly, I can't stop laughing reading there, I am not even sure why many here find that thread upsetting... I think I would miss those posts if they were to stop... not to mention the special "Couch" thread, LOL! poor couch....

Funny they mention his voice as grating, I kinda agree, but maybe its the experience not Adam, its a full on rock concert in your face, maybe being their for 2 hrs makes you tired. But you watch it on youtube, with some quiet your perception may change. It's all selective and centric thinking. I mean like Two and a half men for example, I look it as oh Ashton is no Charlie and he isin't, so I actively stop my self from laughing even if it's funny, its a human thing not an actual reality thing If that make's any sense at all not sure if it did to me haha. Lots of haters on that article. Almost as if they are grasping at straws to find something wrong with him. Some were even calling him fat!

Wise words. I promise to keep my peeking at other forums to a minimum or at least to myself. But there have been some GREAT, POSITIVE things about the concert from non-AL fans all over too.
Why do you think they released the Queen Official vid of Stone Cold Crazy?

yikes, back to lurking. I will just say I have truly truly loved and grieved for other singers who died too young and maybe it's why I'm not at all bothered by journos and well-meaning people saying 'he's no xxxx' esp since they seem to go on to say at length how amazing Adam is. I consider it a tip of the hat to the departed and, unlike us, I doubt they're reading every review, comment. Also as a QAL ticket holder (eee) I'm just too happy rn to be sensible *pop*

Are we suppose to stay and post stuff on this thread until the show starts? If it is general news, post it here. If it is about tonight's concert, post in the concert thread. Thank!
