3 hours ago FanOfTheMan said: talon, I don't understand how Bri and Roger could put on a show by themselves without a singer. How would that work? And I really don't understand how many Queen fans don't respect Bri and Roger or hold them in high enough regard to accept their choice of frontman. I read some really ugly comments about them that took me by surprise. Well a few ways. Most likely it would be a more intimate gig and probably more of a storytellers. Brian has fronted his own solo tour - Roger has fronted his own solo tour (and with The Cross). They (and me) would see them splitting vocal duties. I mean there a ton of Queen songs (especially from the early album sung by Bri and Rog) and admittedly the set lists would have to be altered and taking away some of the really difficult songs...but it could be done. It wouldn't be done with the same spectacle but could be fun. OMG!!! HOW BORING for Roger and Brian. Would true Queen fans really want to relegate such magnificent musicians to such a life. Anyone who thinks they would be happy doing "intimate" gigs, go back and watch the Stone Cold Crazy video they posted on Queen Official. Look at their faces.......pure bliss. Roger is making those drums speak and Brian is making his Red Special sing. Look at the run Brian performs down the neck of his guitar....Listen to that sound!!!! I saw a video of an interview with Freddie and (I'm paraphrasing here since I can't find the video) and he says any musician who tells you he would like to play small, intimate gigs is not telling the truth...we all want to play to the biggest crowd we can. These two men are musicians and they want to play before the biggest crowd they can...and if they had found someone before Adam they would have done it. This Adam fan is just glad they chose him.

Glampoon said (because for some bizarre reason I can't quote you): I get that, and I appreciate it. But look at it this way. You go to your son's third wedding, walk up to the bride and her family and say, "The wedding is so beautiful and I am sure John and Mary will be happy, but let me tell you all the reasons that his previous wives were so good for him. This one did this and that one did that and oh, he was dating this adorable girl before he met you and I was sure she was the one. But then he met Mary and they seem to get along so well." All these things are probably true and the parent may be truly happy for John, but the stories and comparisons don't belong at the wedding or being told to Mary's family.
Heading over to the concert thread to see what photos etc. have turned up.

Wise words. I promise to keep my peeking at other forums to a minimum or at least to myself. But there have been some GREAT, POSITIVE things about the concert from non-AL fans all over too. Why do you think they released the Queen Official vid of Stone Cold Crazy? I think this might be replacing what was the Official Downloads. In 2005 and 2008, Queenonline would post a track or two from each gig in the form of a downloadable mp3. That was really before YT became big. SO perhaps official videos will replace that and we'll get a few tracks in this format.... OMG!!! HOW BORING for Roger and Brian. Would true Queen fans really want to relegate such magnificent musicians to such a life. I disagree...and yes I think they would appreciate it. They do love the big bombast. BUT if you look for interviews for Brian about his Candlelight Tours with Kerry, he says how it was great to tour without all the BIG Queen machine type stuff and have an intimate gig where it feels like he is sitting int he audience's living room with them. It was freeing that he could tour and not HAVE to have the big bombast. So quite honestly, I think he would like to do it in both formats. In fact at one point before 9/11 there was such a gig scheduled to be in NY. It was a VH1 Storytellers type gig that was going to be for TV. Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins were going to appear as well...after 9/11 and other stuff happened, the gig was cancelled. So yeah, I think they would like to do something like that once in awhile too..

Real Queen fans = a meaningless term. There is no code or unified view among Queen fans about anything. But I think that most Queen fans/most Adam fans/most music fans loved the two Brian solo songs -- "Love of My Life" and "'39", and loved the big moments with Adam singing. I think the one thing that Queen fans share is a love for great music.

Decamping to the concert thread. Where I will pretend to get some work done while following concert tweets and photos. #notamultitasker

I could not find any sizing info for the this tank or any of the t shirts. Can any one who has already purchased the shirts tell me if how they are running? thanks

This is what I meant about Brian...With Kerry he got to debut Good Company from A Night At The Opera from that tour...and he screwed up the ending and laughed about it. He wouldn't do that in a Queen setting, with the completely orchestrated set. He dug that intimate jokey atmsophere in front of a small audience
