First I want to Thank everyone who so graciously brings over all the great pictures and video clips and of course those that record at the concerts for us, as Adam would say, "what a treat."
I watched all the videos from The Forum tonight, I've been so disturbed by Mikael Wood's review. I'm not disturbed anymore, he's a complete idiot...period. The audience absolutely loved it, as they should, what a fantastic, professional production, every last aspect of it. It wasn't a review it was a hatchet job, he clearly hates that Queen is touring again in 2014. His Editor should not have allowed him to review (and I say that sarcastically) this concert. No objectivity at all, he completely missed the mark. He misunderstood reverence, respect, honor and love for Freddie, as the band being stuck in the past, completely off the mark. Adam gets it, the audience gets it and intelligent critics get it. Adam is a very generous performer, he brings out the best in Brian and Roger. As I watched old video clips from the past, none showcased Brian as joyous as he's been on this tour. That joy has a lot to do with Adam and it has enabled Brian to perform at the absolute top of his game. They also bring out the best in Adam, what a win for all of us. Adam has brilliantly put his own mark on many of the songs and done so while honoring what has passed...truly a classy guy.
There is so much crap out there in pop music today, I'm not going to bash other musicians, but I don't think any of them come close to the quality of musicianship that is displayed between Adam, Brian and Roger and the rest of the band.
I also watched a lot of early Queen footage, I'm familiar with the music, loved a lot of it, not everything though and never saw them live. Freddie has a great command of the audience and an strong voice that projects very well. Freddie is not Adam! Adam's voice is heavenly yet also very commanding, he has so much nuance and beautiful intonation in his voice. All the critics should stop comparing Adam and Freddie, old Queen vs. today, and just evaluate and appreciate this tour on its own merit.

From the Forum: Roger with Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters and Dominic Howard of Muse. Three great drummers!

Understandable since the band is almost 20 years old, but they were young when they started!

I went to both the San Jose Show on July 1 and the Forum in LA on July 3, and wanted to share a few of my impressions. For the San Jose show I took my teenage grandson and his girl friend - several years ago as a 13-year-old he went to a GNT show in San Francisco, but at that time it didn't "take" - this time it did - and he loved it. I went to The Forum show with my LA son who loves both Queen and Adam, and we hade been waiting and hoping that this would happen, and now it has. Both time we had balcony seats in the first level balcony - a good place to capture the full effect. I'm also hearing-impaired so even attending these shows was a bit risky, but seeing and hearing Adam and Queen together was worth the risk.
Both shows were fabulous, but I felt the great audience response at The Forum fueled the over all performance. Most everyone seemed really in to it. At one point I was thinking, I'm singing the same songs as Adam and at the same time - whoa!
The camaraderie and affection between the band members and Adam was definitely apparent, and the happiness seen on Brian's face was a joy to see. I had seen Queen years ago when Freddie was in his prime and it has been an experience never to be forgotten. At the time Freddie seemed to dominate everything (at least for me), so this time it was great to have Brian and Roger get their well deserved time in the spotlight - that was one of the highlights for me.
And Adam - what can I say - the fullness of his voice, his stage presence, and as always, just being Adam - I dearly love this man.
My favorites - hard to pick, but I really liked the sequence of In the Lap of the Gods, Seven Seas of Rhy, and Killer Queen.
