I understand that everyone has an opinion, that different folks enjoy things in different ways, that there is negativity in the real world and that my opinion is not worth any more than anyone else's. With those disclaimers in place, and regarding this: graciejane wrote:my opinion is the same. When I am on that wonderful high of watching the videos from a concert, seeing the magic happen, seeing the superlatives in the tweets, it brings me out of my enjoyment when critic discussions and negativity and retorts begin. I fully understand that anyone who doesn't get the concert, the confluence of the new and the old, the incredible talent, well, again, the magic, is hard to understand. But lets not let them intrude on us. We know full well, in our hearts and our guts that this is history being made. Let's ride that wave and not give any power to the negativity. I'm not an ostrich, I know it's out there, but I don't want to feed it or let if take away one little drop of the joy that this boy brings me. I was going to PM graciejane, but I admire her for expressing herself, and didn't want her to stand alone. And again, my opinion only, my feelings only. Not trying to dictate to the board, or judge anyone. This is just the way I feel. And then coincidentally I unluckily post a review by the same critic, at the same time that you were posting this. I'm sorry. For me, I dislike the childishness of many of the so-called critics. It is as if they think they will be taken seriously only if they are not positive about something. And in the case of Queen + Adam they mention the same old things over and over again (FLD, not enough grit, etc.) For me, if these are the only things that you can find wrong with a show, then it must be a pretty damn good show! But actually I don't mind them, because Queen + Adam have got this. I love love love the way that they play together on stage. Adams voice is incredible, even more so than I have ever thought possible. Roger & Brian (and the others) are such great musicians and it is a joy to watch them make their music every show. The crowd obviously loves it. I could only listen to a little bit of the stream this morning, but I was fortunate enough to catch Brians question 'what do you think of the new boy?' The roar of the audience was deafening, and if Adam hadn't cut it short by starting to talk, it would've gone on even longer as well. I am on a high, I am loving these days so very much. And even more so because of this great community to share the experience with. And redpanda, you make me very happy too, because you are adding your many drops of joy to this ocean of goodness. Thank you.

Why the gloom and doom over this review.. I fear that I want everyone to think that Adam is top of the tops .. a supreme singing god. I can't even get most of my family to agree on Adam's amazing talent. If someone doesn't agree, am I going to go bat shit crazy.. no.after reading some angst on Adamtopia ,I expected the critic's article was going to tell Adam to get out of town and RIDE.I have to say I went to bed early last night and didn't stream. So when I read Adamtopia this morning about this critic,I got really nervous. What in the world did he say, I couldn't imagine.. after reading his review I calmed down. I'm moving on , the proof is in the pudding, the audience screamed their love ,the ticket sales are over the top.. It's one person's opinion and he gave Adam some Kudos.. If anything even more people will want to check out the show.. To add I loved so many folk's comments about the show,so why does one critic have to spoil my high. If I allow that..It's on me. :(

Help! Save me from myself! There is a fantastic ticket available for the 2nd Mohegan Sun show that might have my name on it--but I am not sure what airport to fly into or how best to get to the arena. Any ideas? I will be coming from Seattle if I do this (cray-cray) trip. It will be going and coming back in 48 hours, too. Best airport and transportation to and from the arena? Thanks for any assistance! Now I have to get OFF the internet and go to bed--I have been listening to videos and surfing airline fares for the last few hours.
I just went to Vancouver and now you see what happens? I sat 20 feet from Adam and Brian F***ing May people!!!!!!! I think I am only coming out of my concert shock today and realizing that I need more!!! I think I need counseling--oh, wait.....

[Puts on mod hat momentarily] Guys, official reviews are NEWS and good or bad belong here. No apologies needed. And yes, that even goes for a "No Queen without Freddie" reviewer who spent the evening bending over backwards to avoid saying positive things - which even he couldn't quite manage. Though he tried. Nearly killed him.

Was talking to a new friend today and mentioned I was going to Queen... she had thought about it but decided not to because Adam was just a reality show guy - she is a singer herself and self-admittedly was irrationally biased against reality show people (The Voice OZ this season is particularly horrible).
So I quickly told her how amazing he was and later sent her a few clips of him with Queen. Here is her reaction:
"OH MY GOOOOODDDD… I believed you, I did.. but I didn’t think he would be that good, he is EPIC! Sooooo glad you showed me this, I am a sucker for amazing voices."

I just finished reading a bio about Freddie and what's interesting to me is that these "critics" seem to have forgotten that Fredddie and Queen were dissed quite a bit by critics especially in their early years. Comparatively speaking, Adam is doing a lot better.
