Help! Save me from myself! There is a fantastic ticket available for the 2nd Mohegan Sun show that might have my name on it--but I am not sure what airport to fly into or how best to get to the arena. Any ideas? I will be coming from Seattle if I do this (cray-cray) trip. It will be going and coming back in 48 hours, too. Best airport and transportation to and from the arena? Thanks for any assistance! Now I have to get OFF the internet and go to bed--I have been listening to videos and surfing airline fares for the last few hours. I just went to Vancouver and now you see what happens? I sat 20 feet from Adam and Brian F***ing May people!!!!!!! I think I am only coming out of my concert shock today and realizing that I need more!!! I think I need counseling--oh, wait..... Hartford or Providence, BB and fly Southwest!

He's no Freddie Mecury... would be the cry even if it was Freddie Mercury.. amazing how he was sometimes villified while alive and now he's a singing saint... Oh well ... Same thing for Elvis and Michael.. all is forgotten and forgiven after they die. They then become legends..
All I want for Adam is to live a great life, stay happy and remain with us forever... Who needs the type of fame that destroys you.

The job of a critic is to critique a performance or show, not just to report the facts. A good critic has the experience and knowledge to make valid observations (which I may or may not agree with) about what is effective and what is less so. It is also expected that the observations are colored by the critic's personal tastes in addition to more objective considerations.
Every production has strong and weaker components. A "review" that just says everything was impeccable is probably less than complete. As for Queenbert, I can comprehend comments about Adam's voice not having the toughness and grit for some of the hardest rock numbers. Adam can and does roughen his voice somewhat, but he never abandons his proper, safe singing techniques, thank goodness. Adam actually gets much more power by staying true to those techniques and using them for maximum resonance, ring, range and strength. If he belted like most heavy rockers it would sound more raw and dirty, and also more dull or flat in terms of resonance and fullness. He would also, over time, do damage to his vocal cords. NOT WORTH IT, to get more cred from the metal rock fans.
When I listen to Adam singing live, I never stop hearing a very well trained, well controlled, legitimate voice. It is there in every number. While that is what I love about the voice, I can understand that is also probably the strongest criticism that can be made about his performances by lovers of heavy rock. So be it. There are plenty of other heavy rock bands around for them to go see and review.
I think it would be interesting for some publication to send a reviewer with a classical music and voice background to a Queen concert. Someone who could recognize how masterful Adam is at what HE does. Yeah, not gonna happen cuz that is not the target audience. Oh, well. I KNOW how great he is. And my opinion, in the end, is the only one that matters to me, right?

From what this guy was saying on twitter last night, from him, this is like 5 Stars!! LOL! IMO, his biggest mistep is not loving Brian's guitar solo! WTF?! ??? After the guy's tweets last night, I was really expecting a scathing review, but I actually really enjoyed reading his impressions of the concert. They seemed to be very honest and well-thought-out; I didn't necessarily agree with him, but I respected the fact that although he's obviously not a fan of Adam or pop music (and can't seem to view Adam in any other genre but pop), he assessed each song and gave his opinion of each, with really just a few negative comments and quite a few kudos. Again, I didn't really agree with a few of his statements, but I thought he was being fair and true to his honest opinion, which is truly the job of a critic. This isn't like those couple other ridiculous negative "reviews" that have been posted in which the writers didn't even seem to have seen the whole concert and had obviously gone into the event with completely closed, already-made-up minds. In my mental list of good vs. bad reviews, this one goes into the "good" column.
