Q3 - your "Reflections" on page one is fascinating. I read it & printed it to read again - on the bus to NYC.

Q3 enjoyed your concert review and story line I have noticed one thing that has not been commented on and that is a lyric change in Now I Am Here that is clearly deliberate and appears to harken back that that very first U.S. Show. The line "Down in the city just Hoople 'n' me, Don't I love him so" has become "Down in the front row just Freddie 'n' me, Don't I love him so." Thiughts? Yes, I almost mentioned that change -- but there are so many intentional ties to Queen history I had to skip a dozen or so. I do wish Roger would explain the significance of TATDOOL. I think Adam changed that. Clearly intentional. There are a number of lyrics changes that may or may not be on purpose but that is intentional. Also, on Sunday in Las Vegas Adam sang WWTLF with original lyrics -- I think it might be the first time? Saturday...."space" youtu.be/T9JRmr3DSusSunday..."place" although he stumbled a bit on the word. youtu.be/ClDHKf8doT0Original Lyrics...There's no time for us, There's no place for us,
Adam has been singing... There's no time for us, There's no space for us,
I thought it was a purposeful change but maybe it was a lyric mess up that he keeps repeating?

I'll say this again after watching/seeing Brian, Roger, Rufus, SPike and Neil ADAM NEEDS to update . THis current band has pushed him so ahead of the game, it's unbelievable. I don't want him to go back he needs better musicians to support him. He is riding the wave to go stratesperic Hmmm, I disagree, crazyoldgal. Adam Lambert is a solo act. He WAS in a group that consisted of great musicians (Citizen Vein), but there (if you watch one or two performances they did in some bars/clubs) he didn't really SHINE - he looked like just one piece of the machine, he was just another member of the group and (in my opinion) Monte Pittman, the guitarist, looked more like the star of that band, than Adam did. That is what usually happens with bands--the singer is just one part. But, when a singer is somebody with REAL talent, they often leave the band to do the solo thing. Adam made the right choice when he called it quits with Citizen Vein and decided to try and make it on his own. Cause then ALL eyes were on HIM, and he could just explode like the star (the super nova) that he truly is. Adam is a solo act BUT He's learning a lot from QUeen and their style and I think going forward , may not his next single, but additional tracks on his next CD will incorporate this style of music whereas the guitar/keyboard or drum takes a few bars and plays out the melody. Example WWTLF and Love KIlls FOR that matter, all tracks of QUeen. I hope anyway because QUeen music is fantastic.

Arrived in Houston from Vancouver and the hotel I'm at has at least 10 people staying from out of town who have come for the concert. Will report after the show. Any Atopers going to the fan event at the Lucky Strike?

And it should - Adam should definitely pair up with songwriters and producers who will help him write great and timeless songs. His voice deserves that. I just don't think he needs a better backing band for when he performs his solo material on stage.

Thanks, geezlouise, hope Tommy has been getting gigs then. crazyoldgal, I have to say I agree with you. After they've seen Paree and all that. I respect Adam's loyalty, and his desire to be among friends when on the road, but there is a thought in my mind that after the rarefied talent of Queen, and all the trappings of a tour production that probably has unlimited funds and high expectations of quality (lights, sound, staging), it might be a downgrade to return to his band. And that is not based on technical knowledge as I know nothing of music, but just assuming that Roger and Brian are more skilled and certainly more experienced than Adam's band. I might be wrong. Does anyone know if Adam has said anything about this? Not trying to be contentious, tormentor *ETA: sorry for the mis-spelling, toramenor, cheeky spell check monkey decided he was right *, but I think Adam shines quite brightly in front of Queen, great musicians, IMO.

I have one ticket for sale, below cost, to the Madison Square Garden show. $110. Section 119, row 14, seat 12. I also have a pair of tickets available for the MSG show for below cost. $150 each. Section 106, row 14, seats 19 and 20. Q3 was looking for a pair of tickets. That would be wonderful, if you could sell it to her. Q3 your article this morning was incredibly insightful. Really interesting read. Thank you.

I just don't think he needs a better backing band for when he performs his solo material on stage. Oh dear Lord, I most certainly do think he needs a tighter backing band. Desperately.

I don't know how to bring this over, but on slate.com there's a funny article about creative grammar in Max Martin songs. Hope we won't get any examples of that on A3!
